Many thanks to the manger Milan and staff members such as Naomi for going above and beyond to make this a wonderful and comfortable two-week stay at this resort in a rural section of the Northern Beaches for my wife, myself and our two adult sons. This section of Mona Vale Road is lined with commercial plant nurseries, flower shops, little gems of restaurants and cafes surrounded on all sides by the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Par (think intense Australian bushland with lots of hiking trails). By coincidence, it is also a short walk from here to an upscale grocery store (like Whole Foods) and also Urban Tadka, which we discovered is one of the very best Indian restaurants in the entire Greater Sydney Area. The rooms are well-maintained, spacious and very clean. They have a swimming pool and Jacuzzi, conference facilities, and a pool table – as well as onsite laundry facilities (no extra charge) for those longer stays. We stayed on the second floor with windows facing the road, but because the hotel is set back far from the road, traffic noise was never a problem. This hotel recently merged with adjacent The Palms nursery and The Eatery to provide all the comforts and conveniences you might need (bar, restaurants, sandwiches, breakfast food, etc). The Palms Eatery area also has an outdoor complimentary refill station for filtered water and carbonated (soda) water for the guests. The key to a great visit, however, is this hotel's great access to public transportation. Public transporation is a breeze using just your credit card to tap on and tap off buses and trains, where the fare is beased on distance. From the back of the property, Bus Line 197 takes you east, near the Baha’I Temple, and then downhill to the coast in Mona Vale Beach (with connections north to famous Palm Beach) or west to the Gordon intercity train station for easy access to the vast Sydney intercity rail, subway, bus, ferry boat and tram network. Also from the back of this property, Bus Line 270 takes you south to the heart of downtown Sydney, all the way to the Queen Victoria Bldg (which is essential for most tour-operated day trips). If you walk along Mona Vale Road about 15 minutes west and south, you reach the Belrose HomeCo store and office park, where Bus Line 141 takes you straight to the famous Manly Beach, with easy connections also to the famous Taranga Zoo (the older original zoo with fabulous vistas of downtown Sydney). There are also Uber rides available (some pickups may take some time), but this area also has several good shuttle van service operators to get to/from Sydney Airport. We stayed here a full two weeks and will definitely return.
