Pros - nice views, big shower and near new fan with remote and Netflix Cons - isolated, noisy air-conditioner, noisy fridge, loud foot steps from the residents in the above unit, mattress very uncomfortable and cockroaches (5 exactly), 2 of which were found crawling across us in the middle of the night. If you want to be close to cafes or restaurants or for that matter even a corner store, you probably should not stay at this location, as you a quite isolated and you definitely need a car. There is no off street parking and it is quite dark when you return back to the unit at night time. There was no ability to leave the balcony screen door open for bay breezes, as you could not lock it, so lucky the fan worked, as the air-conditioner was so noisy we were not able to sleep with it going. Overall a very disappointing experience. I don't like giving bad reviews, but I have owned holiday rental properties and if you want people to come back you have to make sure that the rental property is up to the standard expected. This unit needs an update and the appliances need to be modernised.

“Lovely quiet location, but...”

Firstly the positives - the location is secluded, quiet, peaceful, and the view lovely. The hobs and coffee maker (once you have found out how they work) were excellent, and plenty of room in the fridge freezer. There are excellent free communal washing and ironing facilities, and a lovely pool. As for the not-so-goods, depending on your priorities... There is no Reception, and instructions were sent only just before check in, so bear this in mind if you are travelling and have no access to WiFi. The WiFi at the apartment was virtually non-existent the day we arrived. We queried it with the owners but received no reply. For our second two days it improved to just about usable, but still dropped out. Given that you are in such an isolated spot, again this is not ideal. If you like very soft beds, you will love it. (definitely not if you like firm). The floor was not clean (evidenced by the state of the soles of our feet after a shower), which was very disappointing in a place and climate you just want to walk around in in bare feet. The location as mentioned is secluded, and there is absolutely nothing at Shute Harbour - not even a beach. Unfortunately due to the orientation, the pool and your balcony will only get sun in the morning, although this does lend to beautiful evening light over the bay. Although the bus service appeared to be regular, I would not want to stay here without a car. We may have been unlucky given previous reviews, but did not meet the owners, who we understand own a holiday letting company, nor were they very thorough with our queries. Nb. We only understood on arrival, despite asking, that the basic studios are on the lower level (but still above the pool) and the bigger ones on top.

“Reasonable But Noisy!”

Located next to Sunsail Yacht Charters & close to where they are rebuilding a jetty so there is industrial noise throughout the day. There's a cul'dsac behind apatments so road noise. Gardners were here day #1 of 2 day stay; very noisy electric hedgers etc - not acceptable when you are paying for seclusion; peace & quiet. If you stay in apts 1,2,3 on lower level above the pool you will have to listen to the "elephants" above trampling around all hours due to the non sound proof construction. R#3 is near the laundry & all other guests pass it on the way to the pool. At low tide all you see is muddy mangrove swamp. No smart TV's or foxtel; room is clean. Would not stay here again!
