I stayed in a Gus standard room for one night , The welcome from reception was excellent. Each floor has still and sparking water in tap with refillable bottles for your room . There is a guest laundry on level 2 with a large washer and separate dryer including laundry detergent. A continental breakfast is included and it did not disappoint with plenty of pastries, fruit and yogurt. The room was well designed with floor to ceiling window to slow forecast of natural light with black out blinds when your ready to rest . Double shower for couples and complimentary gels and shampoo. Soft bath towels and a complimentary minibar complete with Nespresso machine

I stayed in the new building, the old police station part and had a fairly small room. It was sufficient for just me, but had there been another person, I’d imagine another case would have made the room tiny and they would have had to climb over me to get into bed. It’s a pretty design feature, having the bed framed by the window but not the most practical. Like I said, it was just me so not an issue but I know people with mobility issues couldn’t stay in that room as a couple, the getting in beside the window would be too hard. We stayed for 2 nights and whilst the minibar items were free (2 cans of soda, 2 larger, a little bottle of wine and a bag of crisps) they weren’t replaced the next day when I took them as snacks to Rottnest which felt a bit tight. It’s a good area and the hotel is lovely but the breakfast buffet is fairly sparse for me as it’s continental and whilst you can order eggs, they come at an additional cost. When you are paying a decent price per night, you kind of hope for more but perhaps I long for how it used to be and showing my age! I’d also query why a brand new refit was done and USB charging ports weren’t as standard in the plugs. At least these are universal and most devices can be charged without having to get an Australia plug converter. Not a massive issue, just very odd for such a new hotel. To be fair to the hotel, it was clean with a big bathroom and I slept well. I would stay again, but would probably opt to try the cottages for more space and a bed in the centre of the room.

Fab hotel BUT massive problem for a woman. The rooms DO NOT have a mirror. How can a woman apply makeup and get dressed without a mirror?
