This is a very nice hotel to stay for those who are looking for some peace and quiet. It has a wonderful location right next to the slopes, close to a small forest, and thus providing great views for those lucky enough to have a room at the right side of the hotel. The other sides look out over the neighboring chalets or the parking space. When we arrived, we were welcomed by a friendly receptionist, aided by the owner. Not really speaking German/Austrian, we noticed from the get-go that that would cause a few problems during our stay here. The information in English is very limited, as is the ability of the staff to speak it. After checking in, we discovered a very clean hotel, a nice (but warm) hotel room, a functional ski-room in the basement and a large bar with terrace. Two negative points however: as mentioned before, the lack of English is an issue for non-German speakers, since it causes confusion with the menu (long-live Google Translate), limits the communication possibilities with the staff and simply results in avoiding asking for information/tips which we would otherwise engage in (and which we saw other guests happily do). A second issue, which was luckily easily solved, is the room-temperature which is centrally regulated without any control from the room. It was simply too warm in the rooms. An open window solved that issue, but I would expect otherwise. As you can read, during our week at this hotel, we both experienced top top-service, interchanged with mediocre attention to the details that are custom to a 4-star hotel. We experienced a forgotten order of drinks on the terrace (with one staff member and a maximum of 6 customers), the arrival of desserts when we were not finished with our main course (with the desserts not being brought back to the kitchen, but simply put aside while waiting for us to finish our main course), a towel-change in our room where one towel was simply forgotten and a restaurant staff member who always mumbled something incomprehensible when serving dishes. Both having worked in restaurants as students, we expected more. We don’t easily complain and the above are truly details, but given our lack of German/Austrain language skills, we were unable to explain/communicate and thus remained a little disappointed. I’m pretty sure that the German speaking guests would be complimenting the good kitchen (overall very good, although a few experimental dishes will not be to everyone’s taste) instead of focusing on the details, so for a next visit, I would follow a crash course in German first.

Standard room is a little small but fine for a week of skiing.

Hotel Der Königsleiten is a pretty new hotel and opened its doors in 2013. It has a modern Austrian style. As soon as you walk into the lobby you feel the warmth of the colors used. Reception welcomes you very friendly and is very helpful. We had an XL room and is large, more than enough storage space. These are their standard rooms Hotel offers thea and sweets between 15.00-16.00u. Dinner is very tasteful and service is great. Breakfast could be a bit more extended but there is enough choice. Hotel offers twice a week a bbq evening and is of a high quality. The restaurant is divided in 2 levels (if you do not want to hike up the stairs everyday, you can consider asking for a table in the restaurant downstairs while making a reservation). Furthermore the hotel has a large terras and a swimmingpool and sauna area. Free wifi and parkingspace outside and inside The hotel is located close to the skilift so this is an amazing start of your skiday. Staff and owner are amazing. Oeps almost forgot the concierge Sam, he is simply adorable. psst. Sam is a dog. We would like to thank the family Obermoser and their staff for a great stay at the hotel and will definately return.
