I stayed in Apartment by VAL for my short 3 nights stay in Barcelona. The apartment is very well located and a short walk of 10 mins from La-Ramblas. The apartment is an Annex building of Claire hotel just across the street. To get inside, you can get access cards from the hotel reception and checkout as well like a regular hotel. The apparent building has an elevator and each floor has 4 apartments. We were in Apartment 3A. It was a very nice and clean apartment as we entered. A welcoming living room with sofa, a big wooden coffee table, a round dinner table and a European balcony. The living room opens to the bedroom which had Queen size bed and 3 wardrobes. The bathroom was crystal clean and well lit up. The walls were cladded in marble from top to bottom. The bathroom had a twin sink setup making it very convent to use. Also it had a feet bidet. The deep sink tub doubled up as a shower area, though I like cubicles more than this. Our apartment also had a very nice kitchen which also had a dishwasher, washing machine and a dryer. All in all this space was very comfortable for a 3 or more nights stay. I can recommend this to even families and can choose a 2 bedroom unit as well. One thing I noticed that the apartment gave amenities kit for kitchen which had a cleaning towel, salt, pepper, coffee etc. This makes it a lot more hygienic to use over an AIRBNB wherein we really dont know how things were used by the previous guest. The wifi speed was good. I missed a few things: 1. There was a coffee machine but there were not coffee pods 2. I missed a working table wherein one can sit and work sometimes (the coffee table was too low to work on) 3. There was only 01 dishwashing cube. 4. Luggage rack was missing

“Very nice classic contemporary apartments”

Apartments are in a great location but the basin does not drain and the kitchen and bathrooms are tired and in need of renovation.

“nice place in center of Barcelona”

We were very satisfied, but two bedrooms have no daylight, just a light well (shaft). Apartment is spacious, one big bathroom and one small is OK. Kitchen is also well equipped, we just missed bigger cups for tee.

The good things: - Centrally located, easy access to metro and walking distance to some attractions. - Spacious and lots of towels etc given - Maid service - Excellent size, its a huge apartment. The bad things: - The apartment is really tired and in need of renovation. The wooden floors are broken, lifting and are an actual trip hazard in the main area. - The master bedroom shower holder is broken and doesnt support the shower head, meaning the water just sprays to the back. - There is NO POOL!! Hotels.com brought this up on a search as having a pool. It DOES NOT! The whole point of picking the property was due to being able to have a swim after sightseeing. You have ACCESS to a pool 2 blocks away at the Suites Apartment. That's not a pool either! Its for laps (one person max) and was no deeper than my 10 year olds waist! - To check in you have to go to a completely different hotel up the road, just not ideal after traveling and with kids and bags! Quite simply, despite the space its not worth the cost. There were lots of nicer options that didnt have a pool i wish we had chosen. Just want to make people aware!
