This hotel is a 10-12 minute walk from Meir underground station, and the main shopping street of modern Antwerp. It’s a fairly good location as you can walk to most museums and the old town or catch a tram nearby. Our room (106) was large and well provided with seating, and there was a kettle, in addition to the tea and coffee available from the foyer. There was also fresh fruit in the foyer. However our room was also over the foyer entrance and very noisy as it also looked onto the street. We didn’t get much sleep some nights and so would ask to be at the back if staying again.

“nice neighbourhood, a bit outdated”

It was a nice stay, we checked in a few hours early because the room was already available, which was a huge deal. The lady at the reception was very friendly and explained everything we had to know. It was a nice stay, we checked in a few hours early because the room was already available, which was a huge deal. The lady at the reception was very friendly and explained everything we had to know. The hotel itself is nice, but a bit outdated; the lifts are tiny and even though the room was clean and big, it felt like it hadn't been redecorated in decades. For example, the hair dryer was old and when we wanted to turn on only the small lights on our bedside table, we realised it was impossible as you could only turn on every single light or sit in complete darkness.

Without doubt, the location is excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Willemsen behind the bar was a great laugh!! However, the hotel is in dire need of some modernisation and love. Although the bed was comfortable and the shower pressure strong, much of the hotel needs investment. It was fine for a 2 night business trip but I don’t think my wife would be too impressed if I took her to Antwerp and stayed here!! Lots to like but the cheque book needs to come out to update the place.

“Urgent renovation needed”

The location is perfect ! Staff is very friendly & helpfull. Unfortunately this hotel needs a profound renovation - the bathrooms are very outdated, the carpet in the hallway is full of stains, the doors of the rooms make a hell of a noise when closing (waking up all the other guests). The location is perfect ! Staff is very friendly & helpfull. Unfortunately this hotel needs a profound renovation - the bathrooms are very outdated, the carpet in the hallway is full of stains, the doors of the rooms make a hell of a noise when closing (waking up all the other guests). The A/C rattles. I believe this hotel has a great potential after a thorough renovation.
