It was our second stay at the Ressidence Inn Barra de Tijuca in Rio and it was a lovely stay as always. The staff is very friendly, the room was very comfortable and clean. The food was very good too! Spacious room with kitchen appliances and living room. We had plenty of space for our luggage and golf equipment. We would like to thank especially: - Ms. Luciana Lacerda, Ms. Sabrina Santoro, Ms. Larissa Fernandes and all the Frontdesk staff - Richard and Ansido from the restaurant. So nice to practice our French with them! Leo Carvalho was also very helpful. The salmon was delicious! And we also enjoyed the pão de queijo and croissant au chocolat from the breakfast buffet! Hope to be back soon!!!

Staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott was one of the best decisions my wife and I made during our visit to Barra da Tijuca. From the moment we checked into reception, the staff went above and beyond to answer any questions we had and were always willing to go the extra mile to make us happy and feel like family:) They were so organized, thorough and pleasant to deal with, and we didn't have to worry about a single thing, as they made sure everything ran so smoothly. All the rooms are much larger than your average hotel, so value for money is excellent and they have a full kitchen as well. A few extra positives to point out; - security is tight with electronic entry doors to access the hotel, so we felt 100% safe - Fibre optic internet ( very important as we both work online ) - hotel is well insulated to the outside noise, so peaceful & quiet - plenty of food, shopping and public transportation options close by - the restaurant food and staff were spectacular! To summarize: We’re quick to find fault and fussy about the details, so we’re impressed that the overall experience not only met our expectations, but transcended them, and our stay was far better than we even imagined:) A special thanks to Georges Wuillaume, the facilities manager, for making sure our stay was absolutely perfect!

“Comfortable hotel but careful walking around.”

The hotel was fine... bland but reliable and comfortable as you'd expect from a Marriott. We stayed here for a conference at Rio Centro nearby after a fab few days in the centre. We know Rio isn't the safest place so had been careful the whole time but were mugged at gun point 2 min from this hotel… more

The hotel was fine... bland but reliable and comfortable as you'd expect from a Marriott. We stayed here for a conference at Rio Centro nearby after a fab few days in the centre. We know Rio isn't the safest place so had been careful the whole time but were mugged at gun point 2 min from this hotel. Maybe just unlucky but there had been a run of similar attacks. So yes I would stay again but please don't walk around (it was broad daylight, 2 of us together and we had our phones out of sight).

“Far from attractions, but lovely.”

February 2024- The Residence Inn presents as a very well staffed, well maintained hotel. Although it is far from most beaches/tourist attractions (approx 20min Uber to the nearest beach, and 40+ to Sugarloaf Mtn, Copacabana etc, and prone to daily traffic jams, our stay was lovely regardless. I would like to specifically mention the breakfast staff, almost every person was kind, warm and welcoming, every single morning. Geovan in particular, is a ball of kind hearted energy, who engages with everyone, and teaches you Portuguese vocabulary between coffee trips (the coffee is delicious). He brightened each morning with kind greetings. There is well equipped gym, laundry room and shallow (1.2m) pool located on the first floor. Additionally, a small shop in the lobby, for essentials, snacks etc. The rooms are spacious, however with no restaurants in the local area. You will need to order room service/travel for evening meals etc. Overall, a lovely hotels, far outside of tourist amenities.
