“A real summer vacation”

Our experience was beautiful. The hotel employees were friendly and hard working. The room is cleaned every day, the same goes for the towels. The hallway in front of our room smelled clean all day. Our experience was beautiful. The hotel employees were friendly and hard working. The room is cleaned every day, the same goes for the towels. The hallway in front of our room smelled clean all day. The maid, although she did not speak English, tried her best to be at our service for everything we needed. I'm sorry I didn't ask her name because she deserved public praise. The food was delicious. Every day we had something new, different. Many salads, cooked dishes, every day there was fresh meat, sausages or pancakes freshly baked in the open area, near the pool. The cakes were not good for my taste, but the baklavas were great. The coffee machine wasn't often in the use, but when it worked it made very nice coffee. The pool was clean. Conifers around the pool create a microclimate that is fantastic and I enjoyed the smell and the sight of them. The ice cream, pizzas and pastas served in the area near the pool must be at a much higher level. The pool bar was good. I think one blonde was responsible for everything related to our impression of the hotel and I think she did a great job. This hotel has all our recommendations.

We went on vacation as a couple at the beginning of September. The entertainment at the hotel was practically non-existent. As for the dining room, we went to eat elsewhere because the food was always the same. The vegetables had a strange aftertaste that put us off from the first day. The exchange office is a disaster. The woman there is always angry, probably working under duress. If you don’t speak Russian to her, she will be unpleasant. When exchanging money from CZK to Leva (300 lv), the fee was 34 lv! The staff avoids eye contact, and everyone looks offended. Regarding the room, the beds were great, but you have to keep your clothes in your suitcase. There’s only one wardrobe with four hangers and two shelves, which are good only for underwear. Unfortunately, we will never stay at this hotel again, a disappointment.

THE DUNAV HOTEL is not more than average, on the border to below average (two star hotel)! It's in badly need for a renovation and a "fix me up"... ROOMS: Some rooms are newer than others, and unfortunately we ended up in an old room; the AC didn't work properly when we checked in (and wasn't fixed during our whole stay, even though we complained immediately?!), the balcony was so small and boring you couldn't use it for more than hanging your wet towel and bathing trunks, the shower faucet was loose in the bathroom and there where to few storage places for more than one person BREAKFAST: The breakfast buffet was ok, but not more than that... There where rather much to choose from, but the quality of food was mediocre as well as the taste - much was tasteless (like the cheese, hams, sausages, etc). All the bread was dry and boring and was only good for toasting... There where none gluten free choices at all and none lactose free. The juices was a total joke - like watery sugary lemonade (no natural juice), no choice of smoothie and no espresso. But the surprisingly the regular coffee from the machine was good! They only served the same two versions of yoghurt every day - "natural" yoghurt and some "blue- and rasberry" flavor. They did have several kinds of cereal and granolas... as well as the chocolate versions - but no nuts and seeds, only raisins, dates and prunes. Fresh fruits where also a good option, that was appreciated! (We only had breakfast included, not lunch or dinner). FITNESS: This was a Joke! You cannot train at Dunav. Period! Go to Fitness Plamen, a 10min walk. SERVICE: The hotel staff was always very friendly and service minded. Some lack good enough English knowledge...
