Price for value was great for this hotel. 性价比高 esp compared to Edition and Park Hyatt though they really aren’t in the same group 😂。 1/3 of the price for a great view and a nice bathtub on the balcony. It really isn’t considered a resort but it isn’t a bad hotel at all. We rented a car and trekked around hainan island. Absolutely thought it was best bang for buck.. especially as we stopped by the old town for some great hainan checkin, soup, veggie stir fry and beer all for 100 rmb! Don’t have high expectations, noise cancelling between rooms and room and hallway is really bad. Suggest light sleepers bring ear plugs in case the screaming banshee of kids happen to run down your hallway... breakfast is standard buffet nothing special just grab some eggs and or noodle soup and some veggies and you’ll be fine.. Beautiful pool, go early on weekends the kids are out in the pool until 9pm! Still a great quick stopover for what it is I’d recommend it again for anyone looking for a nice but not pricey place.

While exploring China myself and my wife decided to take 2 weeks of R&R in the Hanian Islands. We opted to stay in a hotel which we thought was just outside of Sanya, but instead it was over two hours away by car. We arrived at the hotel at 19:30 and went to check in. Unfortunately they could not locate our booking even though we had our voucher and booking confirmation from the Travel agent. The male receptionist didn't have great English and we could not contact our Travel agent back in Ireland, so instead we agreed to give our Credit card as a security along with our passports and eventually after over 90 minutes got to our room. From there on though things drastically improved. We were staying in Block C about 5 minutes walk away from reception or you can get a lift to the room in a large golf buggy. The rooms were very well decorated and the views were lovely looking out over Longmu Bay. We arrived down for the breakfast the next morning and there was a huge choice available. There wasn't any cereal available so I asked for some and the food and beverage manager made sure that there was some available every morning for the rest of our stay. The choice available at the buffet is great and all the food is very fresh. Afterwards we went back to reception to sort out or booking and we met a very friendly female manager who said they had located the booking and everything was now in order. Just to mention that this female manager was very helpful days later when we were travelling by high speed train to Sanya and she travelled to the train station with us so we could make sure we purchased the right train ticket and she also very kindly drew us a detailed map of Sanya where there was a shuttle bus back to the hotel. Outside Block C is a nice pool that's split in two and surrounding by trees. We visited the larger pool close to the Spa which has a canal running next to it. It's a really nice pool and not to deep and during the day they occasionally turn on the waterfall which encompasses the pool. The sun loungers are really comfortable and right behind the pool is the gym. We also went to the beach which is semi public. There is a shop at the beach but it is run separately and they don't have beach towels for the loungers. The shop sells water and ice creams. The only thing about the beach is as a westerner we were been bothered by locals taking pictures while we were trying to sit out read and relax. So we said it to reception on our return the next day for the rest of our stay they have someone at the beach who discreetly helped keep the locals away. The beach itself is superb a really long but the sea can be dangerous as it's full of large jellyfish (which sting as I found out) and there's some under currents. There is a shuttle that leaves the hotel and goes to the shopping mall in Sanya and returns that night. Our you can take the high speed train which is great. There's not many shops nearby the hotel, in fact it's about 45 minutes walk to the nearest "shop" or you can get a taxi to one about 20 minutes away. Throughout our visit the staff were very nice, especially Julia, Nana, the female duty manager and food and beverage manager. The hotel is fantastic and has some great facilities, just a pity it's so far out. We'd definitely recommend staying here if you don't mind staying somewhere quite and having the hotel to yourself. Bear in mind that westerners don't normally stay here as it's mainly visited by the Chinese themselves.

Negative: -Location of the hotel is far from any sightseeing spots (but next train station is actually not far away) , no city or other shops or restaurants near by, just construction places. I think there might be more buildings in the near future -japanese restaurant wasn't open in April and the all day dining restaurant just had buffet once during our stay, the other days were with menue. One day we couldn't have dinner there because they had an event from the beauty farm -restaurants kind of pricy and portions rather small . In the Chinese restaurant the sweet and sour pork was more crust than meat , eggplant with fish dish was 95% just eggplant -you could see the room and private pool were already a bit old, some things were broken or not working (couldn't use the safe although staff tried to repair it 2 times, couldn't open curtain of bath, pool floor was missing some tiles...) Just small details but nonetheless could expect more from a 5 star hotel - shower inside rooms didn't have warm water (although cold water was OK for us and we didn't use it much because we had the bath tub outside) -beach was a little dirty,but just close to the beach bar. Walk a few meters and there were no people and no waste lying around -it wasn't allowed to swim in the sea at the time we were there, although sea seemed to be quitet enough. But we didn't want to anyway,because there were jellyfish and it didn't look like a good place for snorkelling Positive: -we had a room on the ground floor with private pool , which was perfect for us as a family with a 8 month old baby, surrounded with palmtrees and flowers -room was clean and very big -staff is very friendly and spoke English well - shuttle bus to train station and airport is free, but ask for the schedule, since it just goes 2 times at a day to and from the airport -food tasted good, breakfast buffet was very big -not many people there in April, had pools and beach almost all to ourselves -hotel has a little shop, where you can buy the most necessary things, like drinks, beach toys, some medicine etc. -enjoyed our stay regardless the negative points, since we planned not to do much and just relax with the baby I don't know the usual 5 star standard in China and what to expect from Hainan. We had more beautiful vacations and great hotels on Mauritius or Dominican Republic with a similar price, so I'm just comparing to that.
