Our family of four stayed for a couple of nights in 2015. The hotel is fairly central to walk to several local attractions. Rooms, indoor pool, buffet restaurant, and common areas were all nice. For the price, it was an excellent stay. The breakfast buffet is very very good. There is a bus stop just half a block from the hotel. This bus takes you on a milk run through town and eventually ends up at the train station. The bus is very cheap and great for sightseeing. Remember to take a business card from the hotel with you should you get lost.

Great place if you want fast crude service. Very pleased with room, housekeeping, & laundry. These folks really do an excellent job. Great service at the taste restaurant. They do not know western touch, but can help you get what you need. I have been to this hotel now for 10 years. In 2006 this is the only place for westerners. Now there are locals who can afford are the dominant group. No seen of adoptions. But many weddings. Locals who visit this place are completely uncivilized as their behavior of spitting, coughing without covering mouth, & smoking everywhere is bringing Gloria's grand days down with new competition across the river and next door eat their lunch.

Nanchang itself is a booming city. New buildings everywhere. But also a little bit sad to see the old charming streets and buildings disapear. In the center of this old and new stand Gloria Grand. This is our second stay. Its eight years since we were here last time, and the hotel had certainly improoved since. Both the service, the english speaking staff and the faciliies. We stayed in a suite which was spacious and compared to last time it was both cleaner and did not smell of smoke. And the view is fantastic over the river. In the evening you can see an amazing lightshow. Seems like all the new buildings at both sides of the river have LED lights plastered up and down the front. This is used for a spectacular show eith dragons and fish and Cartoon characters jumping, flying and swimming from building to building acompanied by fireworks. We and the kids enjoyed it a lot. So all in all we had a very nice stay. What er did not like; the hotel i warn. Paint and wallpaper could really need a make-over. One cant stop thinking if the gloria grand will stabd in nine years from now. Or will time and the fast Development and Nanchang mean that it will be bulldozed and replaced by somethibg newer. That would be sad!

“Dated but practical”

This hotel shows its age: I was last there in 2004. But it is beside Tengwang Pavilion and so easy to get to. Pool is fantastic: offers a great view of the nightlight show on the office towers across the river. Breakfast is plentiful: lots of choices and good western, local and Japanese selections.… more

This hotel shows its age: I was last there in 2004. But it is beside Tengwang Pavilion and so easy to get to. Pool is fantastic: offers a great view of the nightlight show on the office towers across the river. Breakfast is plentiful: lots of choices and good western, local and Japanese selections. Neighbourhood is interesting. We stayed in two adjoining rooms as a family of four: worked very well. Staff are very helpful, cheerful.

“Rooms & amenities ”

Very basic and lobby bar digs your pocket. People are nice, but need extra time to process your request in English. Rooms are noisy and air-horns or fire crackers will get you all the time. Close to Tenge Wang pavilion and many restaurants are waking distance.
