“Good quiet big beach front”

Good very big hotel with beach front. The outdoor pool was closed when we arrived, but the staff was very helpful and accommodating! Very quiet when we stayed, so very good for a getaway! Also the rooms were very clean and big, we received a free upgrade to sea view room as it was off season.

We stayed during Dragon Boat Festival in the Westin on Zhoushan island. We had contacted the Concierge Calvin already before our stay and he helped to organize the taxi transfer from Ningbo train station to the hotel which made the travel very relaxing. Once we arrived he took care of us in the best way. He helped with ordering from room service, showed us Zhoushan's map and sightseeing spots, etc. He went above and beyond to make our stay was nice and easy. First evening we had dinner in the Five Sen5es restaurant in the hotel. The food was excellent and again, the service was very attentive. We asked for crayfish, which is not on the menu, but they brought us one plate from the buffet restaurant anyway. What a nice gesture. The hotel has bikes for rent and we enjoyed a beautiful bike ride. The hotel is located next to a big, beautiful beach that invites for walking. The hotel pool was not open, but we did not miss it, because we spent most of the time enjoying the view from our balcony or being outside at the beach. I fully recommend the Westin hotel and especially Calvin contributes a lot to make the stay a wonderful experience for foreigners.

The hotel is gigantic and it has the best view of the beach in the town. It has all the facilities you wish for a hotel. I appreciate a lot for the hotel is that very comfortable and sweet touch of the room and the hospitality of the staff. The room is very well prepared by the housekeepers and sale department. It is very bright and comfortable. Before we arrived, they already set up a large box of bottled water for us. Everything is new and abundant for travelers like us to stay for a month. The staff are extraordinarily friendly even though they are not very fluent in English but they try to communicate and provide service. The room is new and I think the environment is the best in town where you can't ask for more on this island. Although the beach is not quite amazing because it belongs to the government and plus the water is not quite nice here. The only thing I would complain about is not the hotel, perhaps more from the tourists and hotel guests. Since this resort is located in the tourist area, there are a lot of local and domestic guests coming every day (not foreigners). They are very loud and most of them bring along kids. During breakfast, it is scary to see those family groups like grasshoppers hopping and competing to get food in the restaurant. They shout and yell in the lobby. But for the rest, the staff and room is very comfortable for us to stay for a month.

I want to post my comment about my experience at the buffet breakfast at The Westin, Zhujiajian, Zhoushan. It's a beautiful resort and the manager at the restaurant is always attentive and helpful. I suggest that the cleaning staff be monitored more closely. When I was there this morning, standing at my table, they cleared my table away without asking, including my freshly poured cup of coffee that I didn't have a chance to drink. They almost did the same to a table next to me but another staff member asked them to stop because it didn't appear that anyone has started to eat their plates full of food yet. Earlier before that another cleaning person had her cleaning cart blocking the walkway as she was cleaning a table and no one could pass through that way. Also, when my wife asked the staff for a baby highchair, speaking in Chinese, they completely ignored her and didn't say a word, later they did bring a highchair, that means they did hear her but failed to respond in words. I understand mistakes happening but The Westin is a very high level resort with high standards. I believe that if the cleaning staff were more closely monitored, these situations could easily be avoided and the high standards at The Westin could be upheld.
