Loved the room. Husband's grandfather actually owned the building in the mid 1850s. Excellent location in the town center. Lovely owners, very clean and comfortable. Only suggestion... please put fans in the rooms. It was very hot and very muggy when we were there, and very uncomfortable in the rooms, until late at night when temperatures dropped.

“Great value without 'cheap hotel 'pretence.”

The Byferie offers everything you would need in an inexpensive hotel, but without all the unnecessary pretence,comfortable spacious rooms with rudimentary kitchens, quite adequate for basic cooking. The proprietor is very charming and accommodating, it was off season and consequently quite quiet, parking was available. The rooms although dated in style were comfortable with sofa, table chairs, TV (cable) etc. The weather was beginning to cool down and the room was nice and cosy, we could have stayed for much longer than the two days we enjoyed. Good value , good location, pleasant proprietor with much experience of caring for his customers. Highly reccommended.

Visited Fåborg over Easter, stayed at Faaborg byferie for three nights with my husband. The location is excellent in the middle of the town. We arrived late which was absolutely fine, we found the keys in a locked box on the second floor. Our room was located towards the street and town square with a charming view. The beds were comfortable, and the tv had a good selection of tv channels. The kitchenette was well equipped with tea towels and basic equipment, as well as instant coffee and tea. The bathroom worked fine, even though the design was a bit old. Overall, we had a good stay. Ideal for families and couples who prefer to make their own breakfast.

We stayed at Faaborg Byferie twice this year when visiting family. It is in a superb central location by the market square with shops and restaurants nearby. The rooms are large and comfortable, if a little dated, and the basic kitchen enables guests to make breakfast and simple meals. Our room was at the front of the building and we were woken up by the rubbish collection early in the mornings - this was the only disadvantage. Parking in the yard at the back is limited and the access is extremely narrow, so care is needed. Overall, unusual accommodation and good value.

These first floor studios or small appartments are really little more than hotel rooms with bathroom and rudimentary kitchen facilities. Nevertheless we found the place quite nice and suitable for a low budget one night accomodation - in fact, we would gladly have stayed more nights and I can easily see us coming back. We arrived just as an hour long power failure had struck the entire town of Faaborg. However, in spite of these difficulties, the one person staff was able to handle check-in relatively smoothly. Beds were soft but fine, bathroom a bit cheapish but absolutely functional. Kitchen facilities are adequate so do bring you own coffee or whichever you need for your favourite DIY room service.
