“3 lovely days in Copenhagen ”

As a family of four we opted for two rooms at the hotel. Very friendly and helpful service throughout the stay. The breakfast buffet was a highlight for us all and for me the bonus was the danish design furniture and lamps that I loved. Only downside was a neighbour smoking on the balcony next to our room which meant we couldn’t have the balcony door open whilst he was smoking😡. Beautiful gardens and a lovely area to be based. Approx 25 mins outside of central Copenhagen by train (trains every 10 mins👍)and a 10 min walk to the station from the hotel. We enjoyed being just outside of the centre but within easy reach and had some lovely evenings eating in Hellerup and a visit the the nearby Bakken tivoli.

This establisment is owned by a foundation and has mansion like buildings in a big garden with a lake next to it. Very restful. Our room was good and even had a balcony. “A relaxing setting”

I stayed at the Schæffergården when I came to Copenhagen for a conference at DTU Lyngby. The hotel grounds are quite pleasant, peaceful, and relaxing, with big gardens, a lake, and even a trail through wooded areas on the back side of the lake. Set well back from the street in a quiet residential area, it's a nice getaway from the hustle & bustle of the city. I didn't rent a car, and was able to walk and/or use public transit to get everywhere I needed (the Schæffergården is a 10-minute walk from Jægersborg Station on the S-tog A-line). The rooms are minimalist, which is fine. If you stay here in summer, be aware that the rooms don't have A/C (and so they can get rather warm and stuffy), but then again, almost no place in Denmark has A/C. The breakfasts are wonderful (and included at no extra charge)! There's quite a large spread of great food for a range of tastes, and they're fully satisfying. If I ever return to Denmark for another meeting/conference at DTU Lyngby, I'll stay again at Schæffergården! I recommend this hotel.
