We stayed last week and what an experience! We absolutely loved it and couldn’t fault a thing. We travelled with Transun on a full-board package, which made everything so easy and enjoyable. From the outside, the hotel doesn’t look particularly impressive, but once you step inside it’s lovely – modern, spotless, and very welcoming. Rooms have the most amazing floor-to-ceiling windows with breathtaking views. The beds were extremely comfortable, which was perfect after long, exciting days out in the snow. The food was delicious and always fresh. As a pescatarian, I was really pleased that there was always something for me to enjoy – including a delicious fish dish every evening. The location is remote, which adds to the magical atmosphere, but there’s a well-stocked supermarket just two minutes' walk away and a nearby bar serving food. My husband tried the reindeer burger there and said it was really good! We were incredibly lucky to see the Northern Lights on all three nights of our stay – right from our hotel room. They were visible throughout the night, even at 5am. Absolutely unbelievable! The excursions were fantastic too – we did two snowmobile trips and a reindeer experience, and loved both. Temperatures ranged between -21°C and -32°C while we were there, which was amazing to experience and really added to the whole Arctic adventure. A truly unforgettable trip – we would highly recommend it!

We are just back from an amazing stay at Hotel Rakka. Rooms were fabulous and the view from the floor to ceiling window breathtaking. We would lie in bed with the curtains open and watch the view outside both day and night. Scenery you just cannot tire of. We were full board with Transun and could not fault any of the food. All meals were buffet style but there was plenty of choice to tempt anyone. We cannot imagine anyone was left wanting with the food! All staff we encountered were great but a special shout out to Sanni on reception. Sanni was always there with a smile and happy to help with any questions especially with directions to the local waterfall! Location wise the hotel was spot on, settled at the foot of Mt Saana and the beautiful Saana fell as well as minutes from the Sami reindeer camp and winter sports centre.

Fabulous hotel. The food here totally excelled all our expectations. Good varied hearty food. Delicious choices. - Staff are all friendly. We did the Transun full board with excursions deal. Which was great from landing to leaving Finland - Only downside was there’s no room cleaner. So you do have to keep towels dry and make one bed etc. But that was minor. - the views , location , trips were all phenomenal- well worth doing

We stayed at this hotel for four nights in a superior room with Transun holidays and had full board. We went for a snowmobile holiday and the location was just perfect. This hotel is situated in an unspoilt area of Northern Finland and even cars were rare to see passing through. It was so peaceful and the rooms were soundproofed and with the floor to ceiling windows I could have spent hours just looking our at the snow and the Saana Fell which was in view. There is a very well equipped supermarket and cafe/bar almost on the doorstep and, even if you decided on self-catering lodges, you would not have a problem getting in food. We cannot rate this hotel highly enough for the comfort of the rooms, cleanliness, the outlook, and the location. Kilpisjarvi is just magical in the winter and, even though it was cold, the hotel was always warm and inviting. The staff were attentive, always smiling and happy to talk and help. The are a credit to the Santa hotel chain. The food was plentiful, freshly made and something for everyone. There were no two meals the same and you certainly didn't feel hungry in between meals. Thank you to the team for making our stay very special.
