We stayed in this hotel in February 2020, during school half-term. There were three of us, myself, my husband and our 9 year-old son and we chose for our stay a quadruple room with a kitchenette. The room was more like an apartment, very spacious and lovely, with a bedroom and a king-size bed in it, another cosy bed in the niche next to the bedroom (our son absolutely loved it!) and the third bed in the living-room. The kitchen was well-equipped with cookware and utensils, the only thing which would have been nice was a regular kettle, we did not fancy the coffee-maker that much, but it was okay. We felt very welcome right from the start, I remember having read some reviews here about the rudeness of the staff so I had been a little worried about that, but the owner Florent and the rest of the staff were very friendly and welcoming, Florent gave us a lot of useful information about the area and handy bits like free bus tickets and a bus timetable, the maps of the slopes in the whole Mont-Blanc area, the map of Les Houches, etc. Whenever we interacted with the personnel, it was always pleasant. The cleaning was smooth and it was very nice after a long day of skiing to return to a lovely clean room with made-up beds and clean towels, every day! I agree with the previous reviews that the hotel is not new, but we did not need it to be, it has this Alpine charm about it and I would not like it to change a lot, personally. The only thing I would work on is heating, it was okay in the living-room, but in the bedroom the heating was rather low. But again, that did not spoil the impression of the hotel and a lovely time we had in Les Houches. We did lots of skiing and went to see Aiguille du Midi and Mer de Glace, and the holiday was just fantastic! We haven't eaten at the hotel restaurant, so I cannot comment on that. But we did use the pool, which was very nice (a little cold for me, but absolutely great for my son, he went there almost every day!) We also played table tennis and once our son played video-games in the gaming room. There was only one game, unfortunately and it was 18+ so we did not allow him to play there again. In the lobby, there is a lovely fireplace and it was nice and cosy to sit there in the evenings, I wish I could just stay there forever :) Do ask me questions if you have any, I'd be happy to answer while the impressions are still fresh.

“Lovely, family owned hotel”

Smallish property, but they have free parking and good wifi. Nice sized room with private balcony. Clean and friendly, we didn't use it but they have an indoor pool and tennis courts. Really liked this place, comfortable beds and large closet space.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Chris-Tal in Les Houches. The location was fantastic and we were able to park directly outside. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Chris-Tal in Les Houches. The location was fantastic and we were able to park directly outside. It was central, near the bus stop for the Chamonix bus and had a great view of the mountains and the local slopes. We appreciated the dedicated ski room for boots and equipment and had a couple of lovely swims in the pool. The rooms were very comfortable, more like a small apartment and included a little kitchen area. They were cleaned well daily and had lots of storage space to keep our suitcases and ski clothes out of the way. The continental breakfast set us up for the day and my sons particularly enjoyed the croissants and oranges. Our thanks to the Manager, Mr Gherold, who was always around if we wanted advice. We will return again soon!

“Average indeed”

Rooms are ok and clean, although rather noisy. One would expect restaurant to be open on a Sunday but that was not the case. They did serve me a nice salad though for lunch. Breakfast is basic. Check out only possible as from 8am onwards. They might tell you that when making the reservation. There was a person who missed his train brcause of this.
