We’ve stayed at Disney Hotel New York The Art of Marvel, Chessy, France a few times now, and every visit has been just as enjoyable as the last. Upon arrival, we showed our booking to security at the front gate and were directed to the main car park right in front of the hotel plenty of spaces available, which was a great start. There’s also a yellow New York taxi outside the entrance which is perfect for photos. Walking into the foyer feels more like stepping into a modern art gallery than a hotel lobby. It’s clean, spacious, and really well designed, with a calm and relaxed atmosphere rather than anything overly loud. The artwork is the first thing that stands out, Marvel pieces are everywhere. From bold comic style prints to more subtle, stylised designs. We loved wandering around the different floors spotting all the artwork. There are also some standout displays, including life sized superhero figures like Iron Man suits. Captain Americas Shields. The reception area fits perfectly with the overall design, and there are plenty of comfortable seating areas if you want to sit and take everything in. The staff were excellent friendly, helpful, and full of useful tips. One of the team mentioned the hotel has over 110 original pieces of Marvel artwork from artists around the world. The rooms are fresh, comfortable, and well laid out. The kids especially loved the TV, which looks like a mirror and displays a personalised welcome message. They also had fun exploring the games and music available. Our latest stay had a garden view overlooking Disney's Newport Bay Club and the Iron Man statue at the front. From the rear facing rooms, you also get great views towards Disney Village and the air balloon. On one of our earlier visits during Halloween season (around the release of Deadpool & Wolverine), there was a really fun hidden experience. A QR code at the entrance led us to concierge, who gave us a keycard to access a secret sixth floor Deadpool Speakeasy. It was themed around the film, with suits and props on display, plus a small menu of themed food and drinks. The kids also loved meeting Black Widow at the Marvel Hero Photo Stations. The themed photo setups were brilliant their favourite was Peter Parker’s upside down bedroom, which makes it look like you’re on the ceiling. Before heading to the park on our second day, we spent over an hour in the Marvel Design Studio. A friendly cast member helped the kids draw their favourite characters, and the artwork on display there was great. There’s also a seating area and TV space for kids to relax. Other facilities include a gym, swimming pool, sauna, and steam room. One of my personal highlights was the New York Boutique, I managed to pick up some exclusive T shirts and merchandise, including a life size Black Panther movie mask display. Breakfast was superb, with a great selection, and the kids loved the cakes topped with chocolate Mickeys. There are also several places to eat and drink within the hotel, including the Skyline Bar, Bleecker Street Lounge (Doctor Strange themed with a lovely view over Lake Disney), and the Manhattan Restaurant. There are lots of added benefits to staying here too, free Wi-Fi, Extra Magic Time (great for getting on rides early), shopping delivery straight to your hotel, free shuttles to the park, luggage services, and easy access to everything. This is easily one of my favourite Disney hotels so far, I could happily spend hours just exploring it. Highly recommended.
