A perfect place for family holidays, Close enough from center town, for holiday bike lovers and deep enough in nature make you feeling far from everything ! extremely quiet day and night I slept perfectly ! comfortable and spacious cottage. Friendly kids club, lovely terasse & restaurant with fantastic view for sunset and cocktails ! , rich tasty buffet, but a quite expensive for a whole week. Half board very competittive ! We booked here on a last minute deal. When we arrived the reception staff were extremely friendly and very welcoming. Sadly on the first night, the village lost the electricity. We were given 25 euros each to eat at a restaurant, plus a bottle of Pineau, caramel's and a letter apologising. The village is situated in an excellent position, with several excellent restaurants within about 800m's. The swimming pool is of a high standard and heated, although depending on the period, can become very busy. The accomadation was extremely clean, lounge/kitchen, twin bedroom, double bedroom and bathroom. With a terasse. All in all, it is an excellent place to stay, although on looking at returning, I found that the prices were extremely high. Check out booking.com for last minute deals.

Things to be aware of: You will have to pay a €200 deposit when you get there. You will need to leave your accommodation clean and tidy at the end of your stay (although you can pay €40 to get them to do it for you). On your last day, you'll need to make an appointment for them to inspect your bungalow to make sure it is clean and you haven't nicked the microwave, whereupon you'll get your deposit back - be aware of this if you need to make an early departure. If you fancy watching TV, that costs extra. This resort is very French, and "parlez vouz Anglais?" won't get you very far, so take a dictionary, dust off your GCSE French and make an effort to speak the language - they'll appreciate it. The resort is very quiet, which is lovely if you're tired of the constant noise of a chalet site. The bungalows are okay if a little on the small side, there isn't a lounge area or sofa, only a kitchen with table and chairs, but otherwise perfectly adequate with a nice outside terrace. Best of all is the washing machine! There isn't a huge amount to do on site - there's a couple of tennis courts with free racket hire, plus table tennis and a kid's playground. The pool is nice, with occasional games of water polo and no silly rules about what you can't wear, and enough umbrellas and shade from the trees if it gets too hot. Basically this is a great place to just chill out. There's a small shop on site which has the basics including your morning croissants, but you're better off going to the Carrefour in town if you need to do a bigger shop. Dinner in the restaurant is really good value - €18 for 4 course buffet including wine, always a decent choice with something for everyone. The restaurant / bar terrace has views to die for. There's free wifi in the communal areas (bar, pool, reception) but not in the bungalows. As for location, I don't think there's a better one in La Palmyre. It's right on the beach at Bonne Anse, only a 10 minute walk to either the town centre or the port area with good restaurants at both (although we preferred the ones at the port overlooking the sea). All the staff were really nice and helpful (although see my earlier comment about at least trying to speak French). The kids clubs seemed very well run with lots of activities and the kids seemed happy but might not be great for kids who don't speak French. I'm not sure how the cost compared with chalet sites such as Yelloh or Eurocamp. we paid €1200 for 7 nights and felt it was decent value, just be aware that it's a different proposition.

“Not for water sports”

don't go here for water sports.....the bay itself is tidal and when at low tide there is zero water ....so sailing is very limited time wise. the accommodation is adequate, but food is quite poor. location excellent
