“Fabulous Place to Stay”

Fabulous location and lovely room. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine. We have a small dog, who was welcome. Parking right across the street. We will come back. Uzes is a great village with many restaurants and shops, perfect for walking.

Mostly we were very pleased with the Hotel Entraigues, and I think that any slight disappointments I had were more with the town of Uzès than with our lodging there. First off, a huge shout out to Loic, who was very welcoming , efficient and helpful at all times. He really made a big difference in our experience there. The hotel is in a very old building with a somewhat quirky layout in some areas, as far as the staircases and occasional cramped, awkward landings go. We stayed in a very large two room family suite, with separate bedroom, and a large living area with nice chairs, and comfortable couches that are typically made up as beds for families. There was a pod coffee maker ( only 3 pods provided on the first day, and I had to ask for coffee pods daily during the remainder of the stay) and tea kettle. A double glass refrigerator was well stocked with wine, beer , soft drinks, juice, etc. An extra bonus was the separate office space upon entrance, with a built in desk, two chairs, ample outlets and a view of the swimming pool below. This also worked well as a breakfast bar, as the staff will either deliver your breakfast to your room or you can take up your own tray. Buffet breakfasts are excellent including ham and eggs on request. Breakfast was over by 9:30am which seemed a bit early to me. The shower area in our room was well designed and large, featuring an Italian style walk in shower with one long sink, two faucets, large heated towel rack ( no power out of season) bathrobes, slippers, ample bath and pool towels. I used the pool to swim once right before a rain storm, it’s small but clean and pleasant though a bit cool for swimming during our visit. Reserved private parking is definitely convenient, as the other option is to feed the meter during the day at the large public parking lot at the cathedral, or park somewhere else in town with a daily ticket. However it is very tight maneuvering in the garage and not always even possible. Once all the spaces were taken by other cars, maybe employees sometimes use it, so we had to wait to sort that out. It was particularly difficult to back the car out into the narrow one way street and one time we were locked in by the automatic garage door, and we looked in the wrong place in the garage for the manual button as the sign was not obvious. Loic and one of his colleagues will park and retrieve your car which was much appreciated. As for the town of Uzès, it’s quite attractive and in a perfectly restored and polished condition but it is also quite touristy. We dined in town three nights and each night each restaurant was out of many of their dishes, either crossed out on the chalk board or else we were informed upon ordering. Overall the restaurants we ate at were notably more lackluster, over priced and over rated compared to the other towns we visited ( Nîmes, Arles, Montpellier, Le Grau-du-Roi) . I did enjoy the Wednesday market which is very high quality but that was really the highlight of the town, there was not much else to it, other than admiring the architecture. We used it as a base for visiting the Pont du Gard, Tavel and Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The Boutique hotel Entraigues is a fine choice, and especially if your budget allows I’d suggest booking a larger room or suite.

“Great stay”

Very pretty hotel with comfortable and cozy rooms. Staff were helpful and attentive — did give and booked us for dinner in a local restaurant in Uzès, which wasn’t great but at least they made the effort for us. Rooftop is truly nice, so is the pool area.
