This is one of the best hotels that we have been fortunate to stay in during our two and a half week holiday in Georgia. Our room had access to a shared balcony with a most beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. We found all the food to be good and wholesome. Whilst there I took advantage of the clothes washing option and was very impressed with the result, both the quality of the product and the very reasonable price. Definitely to be recommended.

“Warm, clean ski base with great views (one side only) but questionable 4-star status”

We stayed here as a family/friends group for a week for skiing and snowboarding. Overall it worked OK as a base — warm, clean, and ski-in/ski-out — but it didn’t match what we’d expect from a 4-star listing. The positives: rooms and bathrooms were lean throughout the stay, and housekeeping reliably delivered fresh water daily, which we really appreciated. The hotel was warm, and the mountain-facing rooms have genuinely excellent views. The restaurant was generally OK — breakfasts were good with enough variation to keep us interested over a week, beers were nice and the evening meals we had were consistently decent. Where it fell short: several fixtures and fittings felt tired/ropey for a 4-star hotel — for example plug sockets coming loose, taps/fittings that didn’t feel secure, shower curtains that didn’t fit properly, carpet lifting near doors etc. None of these issues ruined the stay, but over a full week they did add up. Hot water was good when it was hot, but we did experience it running cold at peak times, presumably due to heavy demand. Sometimes sleep was disrupted by noisy lorries climbing the steep road not far from the hotel. The in-room tea/coffee setup was totally pointless there was a kettle, but no cups or tea/coffee-making bits. Initial access in was another challenge — we weren't able to drive up to the hotel and had to carry luggage around 50 metres uphill in snow - tough with a large group, with kids and all our luggage. We were also disappointed by the sauna/hot tub pricing: it was very expensive (we were quoted about £ 250 for a 1.5-hour booking) and had to be booked separately, so it didn’t feel like an included facility. Staff attitudes were mixed — some were friendly enough, but we also had moments of total disinterest and unhelpfulness, including being unable to get even a quick coffee when leaving very early for a transfer to Tbilisi (reception simply said the kitchen was closed and that was that). Location note: while ski-in/ski-out is convenient, the hotel isn’t close to supermarkets or a wider choice of restaurants, and we found ourselves relying on taxis (which were an unavoidable rip-off) and there was only the hotel and one other nearby eateries. Overall: a decent, warm and clean ski base with (some rooms having) great views and OK food, but the maintenance details, missing room basics, paid spa setup, inconsistent service and only moderately friendly/helpful staff mean it doesn’t feel 4-star. With a bit more attention to finish and guest experience it could be much better.

entrance hidden ; location up of the military street ( Georgia to Russia ) many cars 24 hours ; but it is fine clean hotel ; only 2 floors ( no left ) . rooms small but it's ok ; terrace is common for all floor !!!! not private !! bathroom clean with nice shampoo & bath shower ; breakfast & dinner… more
