“Wonderful spa hotel”

We have stayed for about 4 days in this wonderful hotel in the special room with our own sauna. The hotel is very clean, and nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had the 3/4 board which was excellent as when we got back to the hotel from skiing we had some nice afternoon snacks. Dinners were awesome too. They offer also massage, which were quite good too. One of the nicest room I have ever stayed.

“Experience German "wellness" first hand”

well well well.. a bit off the beaten track and not really catering to "tourists" (dont expect a lot of English to be spoken here) .. welcome to the real German "wellness" experience. For a set rate you arrive (free parking and free wifi) to be welcomed with chocolate chip cookies, apples and sparkling white wine. Your large room awaits (recommend the "new" section of the hotel) and you can have a double room all to yourself for only 15 euro surcharge. The new section is nearer the spa (but further from the bar/restaurant). Breakfast is again with sparkling wine, eggs to order, fresh bread, cheese, granola, consomme soup, fruit and coffee to order. You will not go hungry. Lunch is open buffet and lighter. Happy Hour is just before and after supper hours. Supper is 4-5 courses and magnificent. Dont come here expecting to loose weight.. because it wont happen. So enough about the food (although its reason enough to come here).. there is a spa. swimming pool indoor/out, saunas dry, wet, indoor/outdoor, with clothes and without. Oh yeah.. in case you are not aware.. in Germany.. they walk around in the bathrobe and then go co-ed naked in the saunas. In case that just isnt your thing there is a separate sauna option "with clothes". The hotel is in a very cute small bavarian town and lots of near by attractions and shopping. The hotel is also beside a swath of bavarian forest.. easy to go for walks, horseback rides, bicycle rides. If willing to stay for a few days.. there are often special deals for your stay with spa treatments included so be sure to check it out. Do recommend the 4 day or 7 day packages. It takes that long to really get used to the pace and options. For all the options available and the quality of the rooms/services/food.. it really is quite a reasonable option to experience real Bavaria ! Go for it !

“Wellness with familly”

Really nice short wellness stay at Lindenwirt for the three of us. Great spacious room, fantastic SPA and nice service. Food was adequate but had better in similar hotels - also the vine menue was rather limited. Therefore 4 and not 5 stars

“Pleasant small hotel with spa - ony satisfactory for children”

We stayed in the Holunder room on 2 separate stays at the hotel. The rooms are quite large to include a balcony overlooking the swimming pool. The room has a double/queen bed, which was very comfortable with lots of pillows, and 2 more beds in a balcony area great for children. The room is really perfect for families, but does not include a water boiler or a small refrigerator. There is also no air conditioning, so on warmer nights, it would be great to have the windows open - however, guests are permitted to smoke on their balconies. It would be nice if the hotel had a no smoking policy since they seem to be keen on good health, or at the very least a designated smoking area outside the hotel, away from the family rooms. The spa is nice and the staff are really friendly, but treatments should be booked well before arriving at the hotel. Since pregnant, I scheduled some basic treatments. The first time, the massage, facial and pedicure were excellent (all performed by the same woman). The second trip the services were performed by 3 different women and none of them were as good as the first - the massage was really not good and the pedicure neither. It would be nice if there was a bit more continuity for the services and the staff performing them. The hotel is nicely decorated and the staff are very helpful if one has questions about where to go or what to do in the Bayerischer Wald. The food/dinner for such a small hotel is superb. I was greatly surprised and pleased by this. Some evenings there is a 3-4 course meal and then other evenings there are special buffets. The lunch options could be a bit more child friendly. And the cake offerings could be a bit less healthy, for my tastes (some/all are vegan or gluten-free). And the others traveling with us, said that the cocktails could be recommended as well, with a special drink each night. Lastly we found the new outdoor pool to be quite pleasant but a bit on the cold side, even though it is heated. The indoor pool is just as cold and too cold for young children. It would be nice if they could increase the temperature of these pools in the winter months. This hotel is not exactly optimal for families and parents need to be a bit creative. Would stay here again but families need to book months ahead for holiday weekends or other times with school vacation. And only in colder months since we are extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke.
