We stayed at this hotel early September arriving after a long trek from Rupolding. The hotel is part of a farm and provided a very rural experience. The premises were spacious and you could tell that the food products were all sourced locally. The receptionist (Jonas) was super hospitable as he checked us in (and out the next day). We had breakfast (included in the price) the next day which provided an array of hot and cold products along with a jug of coffee. The hotel also had a bar and restaurant which we did not use with the exception of buying a coffee to bring to our rooms; the price of which was reasonable. The location of the hotel is great; close to numerous supermarkets and a bus stop. The only slight issue with our stay was that we had a family room, which meant there was a door between our room and our neighbors. Although our neighbours weren’t very loud, the thin door meant that we could hear everything from the room next door.

I stayed at the Wessner Hof for one night with a Leger luxuria tour to Carinthia. The location was beautiful and we were welcomed in by helpful staff. I had an upper floor room with large opening windows. I would describe the room as traditional and reasonably well equipped. There were no tea making facilities and I found the whole building to be very warm. We had both breakfast (buffet) and dinner at the hotel, which were modest but sufficient. The room was fairly comfortable, but the bed was far too hard for me and I woke with a lot of aches and pains. The shower also had an issue with the holder which would not adjust and so I had to hold it to use it. The water pressure was not great either but there was plenty of warm water. The hotel was ideal for an overnight but would not be my choice for a longer stay as it did not really suit my needs. Of note the lift is very narrow/small and no good if you are claustrophobic like me. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I wish to preface my review that we did not stay at Wessner Hof, but rather dined at its restaurant. I have limited comments on the quality of the hotel, other than from our quick tour of the accommodation, Wessner Hof is a charming old hotel that must witnessed much of Bavaria's history over the centuries. It appears to be a delightful option for romantic lodging. My wife and I, and another couple, dined there during the last week in May on our way to points further south. We arrived at an off hour somewhere between Mittagessen and Abendbrot. The kitchen was semi-closed, and the offerings on the menu were somewhat restricted. Nevertheless, we ordered standard German fare. I selected the pork schnitzel. Our meals arrived promptly, and our waiter was attentive. My schnitzel came breaded with a small scoop of potato salad, a tart sauce and a slice of lemon. Although the schnitzel was satisfactory, I felt a little let down. The Schnitzel reminded me of a German dish I might get back in the States. Nevertheless, the cordial staff and ambiance of the Wessner Hof a worthwhile experience.
