Hotel Bettstadl - Landshut

“Easy stay.”

We came randomly upon this hotel and booked a simple room for one night. When we booked in and entered the room we say they had upgraded us for free, very nice! Clean and tidy bedroom and clean bathroom, couldn't ask for more. The room in it self had a separate bedroom and a nice bathroom, and a living room with sofa and extra bed. Only thing I felt was less than super was that the bedroom and windows were angled too the west, meaning the bedroom was like an cooking oven from the sun and there was no airconditioning, something I felt was lacking. Then again, anything over 20 degrees Celsius is considered warm for me.. :) We had the complimentary breakfast, which had all the stuff you expect from an international hotel and several nice local sausages. The breakfast was real good! The staff seemed helpful enough also. Placement of hotel is just outside Landshut, about five min with car, which we had. If not, there might be a little brisk walk into town or a taxi needed. The medieval village of Landshut is a real nice example of Bavarian architecture and well worth visiting. All in all the stay was good and the price was cheap, minus me sweltering away at the evening. I'd have no reason to not recommended this to other travelers. Oh, and the WIFI was a bit on and off, not a biggie perhaps. But we are so used to Internet these days, aren't we?

“A good stay”

Not near the center of landshut, but has everything you need nearby! We got in late, when they were out of the office and we had to communicate through the klinglebox. This was annoying since it's pretty much on the corner of 2 streets, and I couldn't hear very well. We also had a slight problem … more

Not near the center of landshut, but has everything you need nearby! We got in late, when they were out of the office and we had to communicate through the klinglebox. This was annoying since it's pretty much on the corner of 2 streets, and I couldn't hear very well. We also had a slight problem with our reservation, but they were extremely helpful and were able to help us work out a solution.

“Nice rooms, very spacious. Very American like.”

The "hotel staff" were pretty much useless. We asked about things to do in the area and they said "they didn't know". Very helpful... not! They are travel agents, obviously their priority lays not in the hotel but the booking of expensive trips. Our room was nice. I don't think our sheets were cl… more

The "hotel staff" were pretty much useless. We asked about things to do in the area and they said "they didn't know". Very helpful... not! They are travel agents, obviously their priority lays not in the hotel but the booking of expensive trips. Our room was nice. I don't think our sheets were clean. They looked clean but they had hair on them (I'm blonde, they were short black hairs). I brushed them off but was a little skeeved. They don't have wifi, you have to plug directly into the internet. We went into the town of Landshut and it was lovely. We ate right on the river. It's not a tourist town, they don't sell gifts and trinkits, it's a true German town. We missed breakfast because of our flight out of Munich but if you have some extra time before you leave for home this is a nice comfortable hotel to stay in. We were staying around Octoberfest with the Munich hotels over $400 a night so we opted to stay outside of Munich. Landshut is a lovely little town and this hotel is clean. They were adding on when we stayed so during the day there was a lot of pounding and drilling and noise, not sure how long the renovation is scheduled to last.
