Enjoyable time in the Bayerischer Wald My spouse chose this location in the Bayerischer Wald for our annual summer vacation location. We normally fly out of Germany, but we made an exception because of our British Short Hair Cat (Carlos). This hotel accepts pets. Please keep that in my mind before you make a decision to come here if you do have pets and you're deciding where to bring your pet. Many Hotels do not accommodate guests with pets but this Hotel sure does. Our Carlos ended up being the only Cat during our 7-day stay. All the other guests had dogs. Many dogs. :). Nice friendly dogs too. Our first night was terrible. Not the Hotel's fault. Germany is going through a "heat wave". Many Hotel's do not have Air Conditioners in their homes or hotels. This is just one of them. At 3:00 AM in the morning, we both woke up sweating & stood together by the terrace door. We were planning on how to salvage this vacation trip with our cat. Actually, I was thinking about checking out. In the morning at breakfast, my spouse ran into the Hotel Boss, Herr Schegerer. She complained about the heat in the rooms & of the lack of a screen by the balcony door to prevent our cat from perhaps jumping down. Mr. Schegerer showed up with his son 30 minutes later with an AC & a screen in our room. Awesome service! We decided right then & there to remain for the rest of the week. There are a few + & - points that I which to mention: + Plus 1- Not too far from the Czech border. Took us 30 minutes to cross over. There are no longer border controls. 2- Excellent Restaurant waitresses: thank you, Teresa! You made our evening with your service always. Also, we wish to thank Veronica & Bobbi as well. - Minus 1- The main road near the hotel is very loud because of the trucks driving through there except for Sundays (it's forbidden in Germany). Trucks & neverending trucks. They're similar to convoys. 2- The lunch food. I wasn't too much of a fan of the lunch menu. Seems like all they offered were just salats. :-( 3- Only an indoor pool. We discovered that they are building an outdoor pool. We definitely plan to return someday. :

I was on a full week hiking trip on the Goldsteig, starting in Neunburg vorm Wald to Lalling. Fourth stop was on a Thursday afternoon in Konzell. Which is a bit away from the hiking way of Goldsteig, but perfect spot to take a relaxing and massage break. Really good rooms and nice welcome service, offering all the needed relaxation treatments, like sauna, steam bath, pool and massages. Even a bike for a great bike ride and other services like transport to the next stop or train station. Dinner and Breakfast is offered as buffet with some add-ons, for dinner also a la Carte and for Breakfast a egg station for special requested style of eggs. The rooms are modern and friendly equipped, with all the relaxing towels you need. Perfect stay after a long and exhausting hike in the Bavarian Forrest mountains.
