I booked this hotel based on previous reviews and location and I was not disappointed. Initially when booking I had some issues from being overseas and providing credit card details. I reached out and found Tobias to be very helpful. Even though some of the staff only spoke minimal English they were all very accommodating and Tobias exceptional. We arrived prior to the check-in time and our luggage was stored for us to wander the beautiful historic Altstadt of Rothenburg ob de Tauber. The hotel itself is right in centre which made it easy to see all the sights. I booked the Explorer Room 3 bed (room 11) for it's view, layout and size. All pictures on the website are correct. The room was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was basic but plentiful. The website does advise no on-site parking and you can either park on the street or outside the walled city. As you are staying within the walls you are able to drive in, which we did, dropped our bags off and parked outside the walls costing 8euros for 24hrs. It was less than a 10min walk back to the hotel. I would highly recommend staying here.

“Highly Recommended”

Such a lovely historic property in the very appealing town of Rothenburg. All the staff are friendly and committed to their job. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with some nice quirky touches. The breakfast is really good. Great location. All in all, highly recommended.

OMG! We love this hotel. In the heart of Rothenburg, just steps from the town square. Centrally located, restaurants all around. And right across the street from the Christmas store, and the teddy bear store. The building is literally medieval. Been a hotel for like 80ish years. Cute little rooms.… more

OMG! We love this hotel. In the heart of Rothenburg, just steps from the town square. Centrally located, restaurants all around. And right across the street from the Christmas store, and the teddy bear store. The building is literally medieval. Been a hotel for like 80ish years. Cute little rooms. All with cute bathrooms. Our room overlooked the main street. So nice. Has a little fridge (they call it a minibar). They keep it powered off when it is not needed, but you turn it on where it plugs into the wall. The front desk people have been friendly and helpful. And the breakfast buffet is moderate, but suits all your needs. We really like this hotel, and would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend it.

This hotel fits the town it is in with its historic charm. The lobby area is very inviting and the rooms have wooden beams and wooden floors with lace at the wood framed windows looking out on half timbered buildings across the street. The room has a bathtub with a handheld shower but no enclosure, so it is very difficult to shower without getting water everywhere. You really have to sit in the tub and bring the shower head all the way down and try not to spray everything if you're washing your hair. The location is good, just off the main thoroughfare. The staff is helpful , the breakfast is limited but you can have eggs to order.
