“Fabulous hotel!”

We decided to stay at a nice hotel for a rest day while cycling the Elbe, and this was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. The reception staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble, the room - double comfort room in hotel building - was spacious, stylish and new and shiny. There is a mini bar - buy your own beer and use the fridge, the prices are far too high to consider paying for mini bar drinks. The only thing missing was tea making facilities. When I asked at the front desk I was given a kettle! We had our own tea with us so great stuff. The breakfast here is the best I've seen in Germany by far: Top quality meats and fish, with different things every day. Scrambled and boiled eggs. The lemon mousse was fantastic! I saw someone get fried eggs and bacon so I thought I'd try my luck and ask for poached eggs. No problem! All the staff here are so friendly and eager to make the guest happy. Even the best hotels can have room for improvement: We thought the room price was good value, but the food and drink offering is rather overpriced, as is the mini bar. Their £5 pint of beer tasted exactly the same as the £3 pint we had elsewhere, and while I would have loved to try a Wagyu steak, I couldn't justify £38 for it. Dinner was good, but not exceptional considering the cost. We had similar standard food in other hotels for much lower prices. The hotel is also a fair walk to the town - just under a mile - but it is a nice walk, we enjoyed it. If you are in the area, I would definitely recommend you stay here.

“Art is art and a nice hotel”

Clean room with balcony and nice decoration. Nice bathroom with a window, the whole room is spatious and has a nice atmosphere. Sauna is superb. Breakfast as to be expected. Friendly service, restaurent and bar with nice view

We stayed two nights on a road trip to Germany. Havelberg is an former Hanseatic city, today a rather small town, located in the northern part of Sachsen-Anhalt (Saxony-Anhalt). It is situated on the River Havel, not far from the River Elbe, and the town centre is well preserved. The hotel has 34 rooms and is located a couple of kilometers outside Havelberg on hilly grounds with a nice view of the surrounding area. The hotel is modern and with several sculptures and paintings, which is a nice touch. Covid 19 regulations were handled nicely by the staff. We had booked a Superior room. It was located in a separate building on the first (ground) floor with a nice, small terrace with a table and two chairs. However, due to the hilly grounds, the entrance of the building was on the second floor, and we had to carry our luggage down (and later up) the stairs, as there was no elevator. Our room was of decent size, and the beds comfortable. A safe was available, but no coffee making equipment and no A/C in the room. We found some crumbs in the chairs, which had not been thoroughly cleaned, but apart from this the room was reasonably clean. The hotel Wi-Fi was slow and not up to modern standards. We asked about this issue at the front desk and were told that this was due to an inadequate capacity in the main net outside the hotel. Hopefully this issue will be solved in the future, as most guests would probably expect good Wi-Fi. Our rate included breakfast which was good, alas not excellent, and we noted a rather slow restocking of some items. The rating reflects the price we paid for our stay, and based on this it is just average.

“Promise more than you get”

Stayed one night In july. Had booked a suite and a Rom. At arrival we were told that due to Corona the breakfast was only avaible at certain times. In our case the choice between 7 o’clock or 9.30........we choose 9.30. One should expect that it would make it easier to estimate the required staff and also the amount of eggs, juice etc. when you know the excact time your guest arrive. In fact the opposit , a very slow service and a minimized selection of food. An a lot of tables with uncharming leftovers from previous guests. Our rooms was under the addict, and extremely hot, 28 degrees. When asked how to switch the aircon on we were told it was under repair and would be fixed. 2 hours later we asked again and now the aswer was it was switched off due to corona, and forbidden to use. We have stayed all over Germany, and all other hotels had aircon functioning. We did not sleep a lot.... We ate diner in the Restaturant, if you like you can see a sep, review. Not much to say, average. Overall this hotel does not give value for money, and they put the Coronasituation in as excuse for every lack of good service. It does not help to call a hotel an Arthotel, when the art of good hospitality is forgotten.
