“Relaxing”

We've been going to this hotel a few times. And the location is very nice. The hotel is nice and clean. The rooms are nice and comfortable. The breakfast service is excellent. You can go walking on the various paths .Or go cycling off road Or along mtb tracks.

Our room was ok, but the worst thing on this trip were the two mattresses because when you sat on them they had big dips in them. Like sitting in an egg cup. Being slightly disabled, I found it very hard to get up out of one of these dips. Also not comfortable overnight because our mattresses were not smooth. The lovely features were the walk-in shower, the coffee machine and kettle, and the suitcase stands!! Really handy and nice!! No need for a big wardrobe in a room like this. You just need some shelves and some clothes hooks. The swimming pool was great, even though it felt very cold in there even after swimming for an hour. You need at least 2 showers instead of only one, in the changing room, and you need more 'normal' chairs around the swimming pool area and not the sun loungers. There was only one normal chair. For dinner, the menu was not great. Not enough choice! Some of us do not want burger and chips, nor fish and chips which isn't even cod, nor peanut butter sauce on chicken. I chose duck and told the waiter it should be well done for me and not red. He said it is usually pink. I do not usually eat it pink! The restaurant was actually very dark, but I could see that the duck was red!! I struggled to eat it. It was very chewy! The courgettes were hard and not hot. Only one potato!! I would never order that meal again. Despite that awful meal, we had a nice time. We are hoping the breakfast buffet will be a good one. I am sitting in the egg cup dip on my mattress writing this at 3am as mattress not comfortable to sleep on. However, I will return to this hotel in the future. Some things are lovely, like I have described.

First of all important to say that we had booked a suite with a balcony. The room seemed to have been recently renovated and, except for the bed, was very comfortable with a living and a sleeping section. The reason for not giving 4 stars has to do with cleanliness. It was obvious that the cleaning staff had not even looked at the balcony for months. The chairs, table (bird dropping!), railing had not been cleaned in a long time. What should have been an asset turned out to be a disappointment. The terrace, which is truly a wonderful and peaceful place for meals also needed a mopping. A 4 star hotel would also have provided real cups and glasses rather the paper ones. The location of the hotel is fantastic, the service is good as are the meals. If only more attention was given to cleanliness / hygiene.

“Quiet location in woods”

This convenient hotel,just off the autobahn,is in woods and has large numbers of bicycles. We stayed just after lockdown lifting. Very organised for Covid. Room was fine. The breakfast was quite awful,but the staff were keen to help. The difficulties of Covid probably explain that.
