“Brilliant stay!”

I was very apprehensive when I booked this trip as I read the reviews on Tripadvisor after booking. I was nervous HOWEVER this trip was amazing. The staff were so friendly, so many choices of food (I’m vegetarian) everyone is accommodating, lots of entertainment and yes the rooms are a little tired but you get what you pay for and that’s that. The rooms were big with a kitchenette and a loving space, plenty of room to do what you want (we were a couple with 2 infants 4 and 4 months old) and it was brilliant. Yes there were mosquitos but what do you expect when you’re in a hot country (goes without saying) but you just ask for spray at reception and the provide you with it. I think I may have seen 4-5 infants my 7 night stay! I do believe the people writing the negative reviews shouldn’t really go on holiday if they’re going to not pick at work out tables, it’s actually a 2* hotel and I personally think (having never stayed in a 2* hotel ever!) that it was good value for money and exceeded expectations. I spoke to a number of travellers that had stayed there and they thought the same too, they felt that people on here had given them so much anxiety staying here that they regretted booking the trip, but when they got to their destination and the hotel, they were more than pleasantly surprised and impressed. Rooms are cleaned 5 days a week except Wednesday and Saturday and that’s no problem at all. Everything is in walking distance, there’s a lovely small pool that shaded, plenty of sun beds and shops within a few minutes walk. I genuinely recommend this place and if you’re unsure on whether to book or not, please just book it and don’t be held back by other negative reviews as they’re very much bitty gritty. It’s a brilliant place, clean rooms, variety of foods, tables and plates are cleared quickly and plenty of drinks, food and snacks if it’s an all inclusive outside the 3 meals a day

Reasonably good hotel complex, close to beach. Room was nice, modern, clean and spacey, with great sea view from private balcony (we upgraded with TUI). Kitchenette was handy too, where we has a quiet breakfast some mornings (we were A/I). All staff were friendly and helpful too. And despite previously read reviews on this place; my wife and I thought the food was excellent. Good choices every day, and wonderfully cooked and presented; so hats off to the catering staff on this occasion. What must be mentioned (and I can only say it may have been unfortunate timing on our part), was the water issue. I reminded the tour rep and the reception on three occasions of the water pressure. Effectively down to a dribble whereby brushing one's teeth was a problem, let alone showering, washing a little crockery, or even flushing the w.c. as the cistern hardly filled up. Before we vacated our room for the airport, we had to shower in the fitness suite as there was no water in our room. A basic necessity one would imagine. Would I come here again? It would require a long hard think.

“Great Location, but ........”

TUI class this hotel as 4T's, but IMHO it's probably more like a 3*, at best! It's location is great! It's on the beach and just a twenty minute walk to shops and bars of Playa Blanca. We also had a sea view from our room. The Staff were mostly helpful, especially the TUI reps and the staff on reception. However, we encountered numerous niggles:- * the safe in our room was locked. Reception advised us that their master key was broken and they were awaiting a replacement from Tenerife (it never arrived!); * the lock on the door to our room failed. A maintenance man came within minutes and fixed it, however, he entered our room using a screwdriver - leaving us wonder who else could enter the room using a screwdriver; * evening entertainment - the resident entertainers gave 100% effort, but were quite poor, however the outside entertainers were much better; * all inclusive food and drink was supposed to be available until 23:00, but, the Snack Bar was never open; the entertainment finished by 22:30 (at the latest!), and the Bar closed (everyone evicted) before 22:45!; * having been evicted early from the Bar, you are allowed to sit outside (approx eight tables only), but expect to be told to keep the noise down by security if you so much as talk loudly or laugh; * the food at the main Restaurant was as you would expect of an all inclusive resort, warm and bland, but the food at the Tavern was really nice; * large parts of the complex are tired and in need of refurbishment, also many areas which had been damaged (eg broken tiles) had either been repaired poorly or not repaired; * water pressure varied, as little as a trickle at some times, which was no use when trying to shower; * the gent's loo in the Bar is in need of a major refurbishment; Despite the niggles, we had a good week at this resort, but we believe that it is definitely overpriced! It could be a really nice resort if treated with some TLC (perhaps the owners should holiday there for a week, to see what needs doing).
