We stayed here as a family of three, our toddler is two. The hotel is beautifully decorated and our two bedroom room was lovely. We arrived on a Saturday morning and I think several other flights from different UK and Irish destinations arrived in Girona at a similar time. This meant checking into the hotel was absolute chaos. We waited over an hour in a queue to check in where other people pushed in and were allowed to by staff. Check in wasn’t very satisfactory, there was quite a large language barrier and it was a struggle to find out essential information. You need to take your welcome card to the restaurant but we weren’t told that on check in and it doesn’t say that on the card. The wrong room number was written on our passports which thankfully my husband noticed before they were taken from us. When returning to collect the passports, he was initially handed the wrong ones. Our room was nice - initially we didn’t have a cot but this was quickly resolved once we’d queued again at reception. Beds were remade and towels were changed but glasses weren’t replaced at all during our stay. Any empty bottles had to be placed by the bathroom bin to be taken away. We were located on the 3rd floor above the Habana bar. We didn’t have any issues with noise apart from two nights where there was a private function in the Habana bar and it was really noisy. The air con wasn’t switched on which we were aware of but it was 24-25 degrees constantly in the bedrooms. A lot of time was spent queuing at the bar or for the restaurant however the restaurant queues did settle once they started opening at 18:30. Trying to get a drink at the bar was really bad - we stopped using the bar and snack bar because it took so long to be served. The food was fine - always fresh meat and fish from the grill. We did find it lacked variety, there would always be multiple trays of overcooked vegetables but few main dishes. The salad bar was nice but I was really disappointed with the lack of salad dressing, other than oil and vinegar. Breakfast was fine, the Spanish tortilla was lovely but wasn’t frequently there. Omelettes are made fresh and were nice. Desserts were pretty good and I really appreciated the fact there were yoghurts and a variety of fresh fruit for my little one. Despite there being a section for kids, there wasn’t any child friendly crockery or cutlery. We took a little fork for our toddler but assumed there would be tea spoons. I asked for a tea spoon and was told they didn’t have any. When we had coffees from the bar later in the week, we were given a tea spoon. I really couldn’t understand why there were no tea spoons in the restaurant. We felt like we fell into a bit of a gap at this hotel. The indoor pool was nice but was unsupervised chaos so it wasn’t the safest experience. There wasn’t much for us to do as a family in the hotel so we spent a lot of time in Pineda de Mar exploring the various playgrounds and finding ice cream shops. There was an amazing playground on the beach in the direction of Calella. The playground in the hotel was good too but there were no indoor activities suitable for toddlers and the mini disco started at 20:45 which was too late. We did feel like there were a lot of guests who were very inconsiderate - pushing into the many queues, smoking by the pool and using large inflatables in the indoor pool. I know the hotel can’t control who comes to stay but staff were aware of this and did absolutely nothing to challenge some of the guests’ behaviour. We thought the location of the hotel was great and loved walking into the local towns. We took the train into Barcelona from Pineda de Mar. It was a 10/15 min walk to the train station and just over an hour train. That was a highlight of the trip. We did get this at an absolute bargain with TUI and think we’d have been more disappointed about our experiences if we’d paid more. We’re undecided about whether we’ll return here. Maybe when our toddler is older and can engage more with the activities. We loved the location and the feel of the hotel but the behaviour of the other guests and the lack of good service was a disappointment for us.

Hotel itself was nice however the service was the opposite. We experienced extreme wait times at the bar for drinks (average of 20/30 min to get served) everyday. Hotel itself was nice however the service was the opposite. We experienced extreme wait times at the bar for drinks (average of 20/30 min to get served) everyday. Room cleaners only made the beds and swapped the towels didn’t actually clean the room by taking away rubbish or cups. Waterpark was closed during our stay and we weren’t notified this was gonna be the case. Restaurant staff were shocking, wouldn’t come to get our drinks ordered, often just walking around when there were tables waiting to be cleaned and people waiting to be seated. Rest of staff such as reception weren’t very polite or approachable most of them seemed like they didn’t want to be there, i was often saying thank you or hello to staff and being ignored. Food and pool were nice however lacked a gym. Carpark was over priced for what it is. Pool bar was closed. Won’t be returning.
