Travelled with Inghams in February on a couple’s skiing holiday. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the town’s central square. Buses stop directly outside. The overall impression gained from our stay here was that it’s staffed by people who, for the most part, have a drive to provide great, friendly service. They seem to love their jobs and it shows in their interactions with guests. The hotel has no pretensions. It is a great place for couples and families alike. Our room was very basic, clean, quiet and comfortable, but adequate for what we wanted. No tea/coffee facilities in the room. No air conditioning, so summer temperatures may be an issue, Those with mobility problems would struggle to get to our room, which was up a flight of stairs after the lift. (Room 31) No issue for those without mobility problems. The public areas of the hotel are warm, open, bright and relaxing. The huge, impressive new restaurant has subtle screening to ensure that a ‘canteen’ atmosphere is avoided. There are some side rooms for those who prefer a more cosy feel. The buffet breakfasts and evening meals are excellent Breakfast may be a little light on English staples such as black tea, bacon and eggs, but this is a French hotel. Dinner provides a salad starter, a wide variety of mains and masses of desserts. The word ‘salad’ needs expanding as it includes, a wide range of sea food, meats, pasta, salad and various garnishes. It really is very good. Complimentary wine, or beer accompanied dinner. The wine is basic, but perfectly drinkable. Afternoon tea and evening events for children and adults are all included for those who want to join in. There is actually a basement theatre for more choreographed shows. All included. For those who want to just chill after dinner there is a very comfortable lounge, a well stocked bar and free games for those who want to play cards etc. For skiers there is a secure ski storage area and a complimentary hotel shuttle bus to/ from the Supermorzine and Pleny ski lifts. There is a great Ski 2000 ski hire shop a few metres from the hotel door, and I do mean a few metres. Next to that is the bus stop for the free ski bus that provides access to areas further afield than the hotel shuttle. To conclude; we loved Le Cret. The staff are great, the hotel is great and we will return, yet again.
