Having stayed at many hotels in different locations in Europe, the SANA Metropolitan Hotel has come up the best for many, many reasons. By taxi, conveniently only about ten minutes from the main Lisbon Airport. This hotel is placed conveniently located to access many of the sites of interest in Lisbon with transport and / or taxi in a moment. The standard - Definitely Four star, no less. A really good welcome from the Reception staff and always a porter there to help with luggage if wished. My room had a fabulous high up view, yes on the flight path to the Airport, but honestly the window glazing was very good, could hardly hear a thing - in fact I wanted to take a few photos of the planes flying past, but they were so quiet I kept missing the moment. Cleanliness, no question - the staff were there to clean your room, etc everyday if you wished. But equally you could hang the 'Do not disturb' sign on your door and know that you and your belongings were safe and would not be disturbed. My bed was huge and allowed me a really comfortable night's sleep. The food, both in the main restaurant and the bar gave a good range of choice and of course, the breakfast could not be faulted! The atmosphere changes slightly depending on when you stay there, sometimes busy but wonderfully calm and this recent time really vibrant. Just off the reception area is a gift shop with all your gift needs - a must! But the MOST IMPORTANT thing to note - the Staff Teams. Every member of staff - Domestic; Restaurant; Bar; Reception and Guest Service are to be commended on their dedication to their service. Yes, of course you can be left alone to have privacy, private meetings with friends, etc., but every member of staff gives you at least, a smile, a warm word or two - and if you have stayed there before, they show they have really good memories - all so welcome when you are a solo traveller! Hotel**** Sana Metropolitan in Lisbon meets the standards of a five-star hotel. That was our first visit in Lisbon and we are very impressed. If guests expect vey good service, we heartily recommend it. Throughout our Easter stay, the staff was helpful, smiling and quickly responded to our and other guests' requests. The room was clean and well maintained as described, large and bright. The winter offer for accommodation was even better than many booking portals. The large bed allowed you to rest comfortably after long trips. Water, coffee were replenished on an ongoing basis. There was no shortage of cosmetics. Interestingly, towels and bedding were replaced on an ongoing basis. The bed was perfectly slaid every day. Everyone will find something for themselves at breakfast. There is everything that is necessary and in the right quantities. It's clean! Communication with the world provided by Wi-Fi. The hotel is very quiet, located in the vicinity of offices, university buildings. Transport is provided by a communication system. If you want to be in the harbour, you are, you want to be At a business meeting, not on business. Competitive taxi prices in relation to other European capitals. We were during the Easter season, and the hotel provided an Easter brunch. Not to be overeated. And most importantly, the reliable Mrs. Filomena watched over everything. We highly recommend. We will definitely come back. Good and proven facility.

After returning from hosting a week-long conference at the Sana Metropolitan Hotel in Lisbon for 190 delegates, and I can honestly say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The hotel itself is excellent, with comfortable bedrooms and great facilities throughout. The meeting spaces were exceptional, well-equipped, comfortable, and perfectly suited to large-scale events, which made the delivery of our programme run smoothly throughout the week. The catering was another real highlight, consistently high quality, varied, and very well received by our delegates. I received a great deal of positive feedback specifically about the range and standard of the food each day. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, are the staff. They operate like one big family, all under the watchful eye of their General Manager, Vítor Junqueira Gonçalves. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and every request was handled with professionalism, warmth, and efficiency. A very special mention must go to my three main contacts, Marta Fernandes, Joana Silva, and Joana Francisco. Without their support, dedication, and constant availability, my life would have been so much harder during the planning and delivery of this conference. Another mention must go to Ilídio, this spritely 91 year old runs the gift shop in the hotel, his history is a must to hear, and he sells the most amazing gifts that anyone would love to bring back from Portugal, I thoroughly recommend the ceramic items! Finally, there are also so many other team members across every department who contributed to the success of our event, and I’ll be writing to the hotel directly to recognise them as well. If you’re planning a conference or large event in Lisbon, I would highly recommend the Sana Metropolitan Hotel.

The SANA Metropolitan Hotel is a nice 4-star hotel. I have seen a lot of these. There isn’t anything to complain about. But what is outstanding about this hotel is the dedication of every single staff member. I am not exaggerating when I say that every hotel employee you run into is way above average friendly, attentive and helpful. Front desk, cleaners, waiters, bar men, everybody… I’ve never seen anything like it!
