Loved everything about this hotel: service, location, room, restaurant, bar. Service at the front desk was excellent. Several times they wrote out our desired destination in Japanese for the taxi driver (BTW taxi were great, all took credit cards) and walked us out to the taxi stand (front entrance) and made sure driver knew where we were going. Location across the road from picturesque Hibiya park was nice. We were upgraded (don't know why- booked via Expedia) to a high floor (Imperial floor), room was very clean with a large bathroom where you could set the exact temp you wanted on the shower. Japanese style toilet with heated seat etc. Parkside restaurant good American style breakfast. Top floor Aqua bar great views but expensive. Our favorite was the Imperial bar - attentive service, great atmosphere, sandwiches for lunch. Overall a great experience and compared to rates at well known US branded hotels seemed to be a good value.

“Incredible stay at the Imperial Hotel!”

One of the Grand Dame hotels with superb service. The grand lobby is the place to meet or just admire the sakura centrepiece - lovely! At check-in, the woman greeted me with a Happy Birthday (my birthday was 6 days prior) and suffice to say that it was much appreciated as the proximity to the day had been overlooked by eight previous hotels. She then upgraded our room and gave me a small present. Suffice to say with this incredible attention to detail, we will return on all future trips! Exceptional service continued throughout our stay, in particular the staff in the Old Imperial Bar were extremely professional and obviously proud of the hotel's history. The rooms are not swank but very comfortable and quiet. The rooms are well-maintained. On our last day we had breakfast in the Japanese restaurant in the basement and it was very good! Definitely recommend this option over either the buffet or the coffee shop on the ground floor. Location is excellent - numerous subway stations within easy walking distance (Hibiya, Kasumigaseki, Ginza, Yurakucho) while Tokyo Station and the Shinkansen takes about 15 minutes with many window shopping opportunities along the way. Hibiya Park is directly across the street with the Imperial Palace grounds a few minutes further. Many restaurant choices can be found under the train tracks right behind the hotel.

We had a pleasant stay at Imperial Tokyo. We arrive by Shinkansen from Tokyo station and walked to the hotel. Not a very long walk but also not a very short walk especially with luggage on tow. We left by taking the taxi to Tokyo station. Taxi is the better option but the fares are quite hefty for a short ride. The hotel do not provide a detail walking route from Tokyo station to the hotel but we find that if you are walking in the right general direction you'll be fine. Get above ground though so that you can see where you are headed. There is a subway station nearby to take the metro but again must use the right exits to save a lot of unnecessary steps. I would say the location is good but not excellent. It is very close to Ginza if it is your target. The rooms are not very spacious but this is Tokyo standard. They are pleasant but not top grade. It commensurate with the price paid in Tokyo. The absence of a standing shower is of particular note. The shower gel and shampoo is in packet and not bottle form. First time i encountered this and found it inconvenient to use. We stayed in the tower rooms which is quite a distance from the main lobby. This is not a concern though after check in as there are other entrances to the hotel nearer the tower building. We were unable to secure connecting rooms and had to settle for adjacent rooms. Would not be convenient for families with young kids. They offer breakfast in four locations. We tried the buffet breakfast which we find to be very good. Big spread with good quality food. We had the sit down American breakfast as well and found it to be very nice especially the pastries. Service is good and staff are attentive. They don't seem to have evening turn down service though. Overall a nice pleasant hotel which commensurate with the price. Staying here does bring with it a certain nice nostalgia. It is good enough for us to think of returning.

“Good Experience”

The hotel, especially our room was looking a little dated. The room was clean, A/C seemed to struggle a little to maintain temperature. All the staff were pleasant and accommodating.
