Looked at Altos and found it shabby. Checked the Savoy and it was dreadful. So Carlos V was the best we found. The room was a good size with a handy working desk area, the bed and pillows were comfortable, the shower had good pressure. Breakfast was a downer. The start were very friendly, especially Ismael.

“Fine for 1 night”

Some friends & I stayed one night in this hotel. We did check in late & had some dinner. My only suggestion would be to stop using all the room deodorizer, everywhere the rooms & lobby etc smelled of plug ins. I think it was to mask the cigarette smoke from the casino but both were strong odors… more

Some friends & I stayed one night in this hotel. We did check in late & had some dinner. My only suggestion would be to stop using all the room deodorizer, everywhere the rooms & lobby etc smelled of plug ins. I think it was to mask the cigarette smoke from the casino but both were strong odors. The restaurant was good & we did have some wine. For a quick stop over this will do.

This is by far the most decent hotel in the State Capital. The staff can handle english speaker guest (in some way but they try at least) and the location of the hotel couldn't be better just in front of the main square of the city. This is by far the most decent hotel in the State Capital. The staff can handle english speaker guest (in some way but they try at least) and the location of the hotel couldn't be better just in front of the main square of the city. The food outlets are very good and you would probably won't have a better meal in the city. The prices are a little steep for the province but they are reasonable at a national level. Don't expect a great decor or an outstanding architecture. Its not modern, its not trendy but its by far the best you would get here. The hotel gets a good mark mainly because you are out of choices the moment you come to this city. I would only stay here plus the staff its really really nice.

Because of IT problem with Aerolineas Argentinas we were forced to spend a long afternoon in the capital of the province of the same name. We had to take a 14 hour bus ride back to Buenos Aires. had a cup of tea at the hotel, quite ordinary and looking dated. The town may be 470 years old but they have failed to modernise the cathedral and the main square looks bare. I'd call Santiago a city of cables; all over the place telephone and electricity cables hang from buildings in interminable knots. The outside of the cathedral was poorly mantained as it was almost everything else. The best building was the bus terminal. It's a pity as this town, with a coat of paint and some TLC could look lovely. Small wonder we didn't spot a single tourist in the five hours we spent there. A truly provincial town everything g closes for siesta, so you can't do anything useful until 5:30 pm when shops start to open. We will not be coming back soon.
