I left disappointed with my experience at Grand Oasis Cancun, mainly because of poor communication and service. Upon arrival, no one explained clearly how the all-inclusive dining system worked. We went to the Mexican restaurant and ordered one small taco each, not realizing there was a buffet available. When I asked to see the menu again to maybe order a side, the staff reacted in a judgmental way, and one waiter even laughed at us, which felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. The food itself was not good, so we left. At check-in we were told we could do two specialty restaurants a day, but only later discovered most required reservations and almost everything was already full. No one explained this properly. We ended up finding by chance one restaurant that didn’t require reservations, and the food there was honestly inedible — even the sides had a strange aftertaste. Most of the trip we ended up eating basic chicken and fries at Hippie Chic. Since we only stayed three days (and arrived the first evening), by the time we figured out how the hotel worked, the trip was basically over. Check-out was also disappointing. While waiting to store my luggage, an employee named Victor refused one of my bags because it was open. I asked if I could quickly move some items into my suitcase, and instead of helping, he responded dismissively that I should have done it before waiting in line — even though nobody had told me an open bag wasn’t allowed. I ended up carrying a heavy bag around all day. The biggest issue wasn’t one bad meal -it was poor guidance, lack of hospitality, and staff attitudes that made guests feel unwelcome.

Just returned from 7 days at this resort and here are the good, the bad and the ugly. Arrived late and checked in- Not a staff member in sight to help us find our room or direct to the nearest elevators. Once we arrived at the room, we quickly discovered that it was not the upgrade we paid for. Initially we upgraded to a Oceanview room, we were given a room that overlooked roofs and another building. We brought this to the attention of the concierge and then told that it's a partial Oceanview. (That was not listed in the description), after complaining to multiple staff remembers, the hotel manager found us a room 2 days later on a higher floor with a view. Food was good, swim up bars were busy but that is to be expected, and I never waited in line for a buffet. Shows were mediocre, music plays till 11pm every night and can be heard throughout the whole resort, young adults everywhere and the hallways get loud around 3-4am. Room was cleaned daily and fridge was restocked with water and beer. Now the downside- Found 3 cockroaches in our room, killed 1 but the other 2 got away, hot water in both rooms were not working , bathroom door in the first room wouldn't close, sheets were stained, water smelled like Sulphur, only 2 blenders to make drinks that we could find, no beach chairs, had to reserve our pool chair by 9am with towels or you were not getting one, patio doors did not close properly., hotel tax of $140 when you first check in that was not disclosed to us upon booking, not much food variety for young kids in the restaurants. We reserved a Bali bed on the final day, definitely worth it and I would recommend to everyone.
