We booked a few extra days stay in Prague before our tour started and the hotel did not disappoint. Comfortable, clean, modern rooms with everything we needed. Close to restaurants, shops and metro with a 20 minute trip into Prague centre, yet without the crowds that we would have had if we stayed in the city centre. Recommend staying at the Occidental Praha.

“Odd location, otherwise adequate”

This hotel was oddly located in a residential neighborhood of Prague, nowhere near any of the tourist sights - we only stayed here because we attended a conference held at the hotel. It appeared that the hotel was most popular with tour groups - the breakfast room was packed every morning and busses were lined up to whisk people away. Fortunately the Metro was only about 10 minutes away and it was easy to use, so we did not have any issues visiting the major sites a solo travelers. The room was comfortable but basic. Air conditioning did not work the first day but they were able to fix it after that (but then it was a bit chilly!). Breakfast was hearty and the lounge had a decent food menu. Bar service was prompt and attentive. The "gym" needs a serious overhaul and expansion - right now it consists of just one room with a treadmill, an elliptical and two stationary bikes, No weights, no area to stretch, and no sanitizing wipes. I suppose one may not need the gym if doing a lot of sightseeing on foot, but some basic weights would have been appreciated. Overall not a bad experience but there are likely better-located options in Prague.

“An average stay”

I had forgotten my hairbrush so asked for a small comb (not a particularly unusual amenity) and was told they don't have one. I had forgotten my hairbrush so asked for a small comb (not a particularly unusual amenity) and was told they don't have one. The room was cold at night and although an extra blanket was provided for me upon request, they were unable to provide me with any type of portable heater. Also, be aware that there are no USB ports in the room - something to keep in mind when you are travelling if you rely on their availability to charge your devices. Room was quite small. I am not a particularly large person and kept bumping into things so also keep this in mind when booking. A weird smell eminated from the bathroom drain.

We had the first flight out which meant we got to the hotel just gone 11am check in wasn’t until 2pm so we had time kill When we arrived at the hotel the reception men weren’t exactly keen on helping and more keen on chatting in the back room I was able to leave my luggage in the store room so we had a wonderful around So we could work out our bearings The train station (metro) is only a 9 min walk when u turn left out of the hotel and str8 on the road the station u need is budejovicka there’s a little shopping centre there with shops and some food outlets kfc macdonalds etc not a lot really happening there We worked out the stop to get to the muzeum which the train u want goes to lethany and when coming bck the train u want goes to haje When we came bck we were allowed to check in around 1.30pm which was handy however again the reception men attention exactly friendly or forthcoming I got the impression that they just wanted to talk and do nothing Check in was easy and simple we had a room on the 6th floor right outside where the lift was which wasn’t ideal as u could hear the noise and everything!!! The room layout was ok but the bathroom was a little odd no door to the bathroom on the left was the toilet and on the right was the shower and in the middle was the sink which was a bit odd the bed size was great comfy the air con worked great I had to ask for an extra cover cause I got cold but only gave me a sheet!!! I was expecting an extra duvet cover but u couldn’t have the air con off as the room got stuffy There is limited wardrobe space with hangers they do have a hair dryer and tea/coffee facilities and a small fridge Breakfast was great a lot of good choices plenty of tea/coffee machines however that’s where it stops I didn’t like the fact u had to share tables with other ppl dinning area was cramped but they do state that there r busy times to go for breakfast the second (last day) breakfast room was much quieter and could enjoy breakfast more The restaurant staff were helpful and friendly can’t say the same for the reception staff
