We stayed here last month, over easter and had a positive experience. I had booked online and need to amend the dates, give or take a night, a couple of times, which automatically applied a new rate. This was easily sorted when I contacted the hotel directly, and spoke to their reservations team. Gemma in reservations reallocated the original booking and was happy to oblige us with the initial booked rate. Next time we won’t be messing around with amending our booking online 😉. We’ll just contact the hotel. We required gluten free options at the Steakhouse, which I was informed they would have available. Unfortunately, there was not such a selection when we dined there but after mentioning this briefly to the reception, Sinead O’Sullivan the Accommodation Manager got involved, as I also needed to point out a couple of small things about the room (eg. The sink wasn’t draining etc), who assured us there should have been this choice at the Steakhouse Restaurant and that there would be for breakfast she would make sure it was available, and it was. We didn’t ask or request to move rooms, even though there was a minor issue or two but Sinead made a point of upgrading our family to a beautiful room on the 3rd floor, newly renovated, which my daughter loved, and it just made our stay so much better. It was such a personal touch, and you can tell that the hotel is a small, close-knit team, who really do want to make your stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. We also used the pool area one of the days, which was nice and clean. The gym looked really good but didn’t get a chance to use it. We ended up at the Ashdown Park Hotel, having originally wanted to stay in Amber Springs but they had been booked up. After spending one full day in Amber Springs, I can say we are so glad that the hotel didn’t have the room availability for us. Although it is a beautiful hotel as well, and the food and drink choice is lovely, the setting etc., it does come with a hectic vibe and was extremely busy full of very young kids and families but it doesn’t seem to be contained in any way. I know this would suit some families, but we were glad to get back in the evening to the quiet of The Ashdown Park Hotel. It’s a short drive or a 15 minute walk between hotels, which takes you through the town. Also to note the Amber Springs outdoor play area and gocarts especially, could do with some attention – it was really run down and several of the gocarts were out of action. We will certainly be back to stay at The Ashdown Park Hotel again, hopefully before the end of this year. Thank you to all who made our stay extra special. They even had easter eggs delivered for the kids to each room, on Easter Monday morning. Very nice touch.

“Bisiness trip”

Always have a good stay at this hotel apart from the summer when the rooms are hot due to lack of air conditioning in the rooms

Lovely hotel, excellent facilities, great food, especially the breakfast, and the most friendly/efficient staff to make sure you enjoy your stay. Please do not be put off by the Sleep Quality rating as it was perfect once we got the radiator turned down - My stupidity.
