“Lovely place a few miles out of Menaggio ”

I guess the first thing to point out is that this hotel is further from Menaggio than some websites would state. There's a bus service into the town but finishes quite early in the evening. Hotel was lovely with a pool and nice deck area. Room was clean and a reasonable size with a well equipped bathroom although shower is a basic stall. Air con worked well. Breakfast was good quality but basic and evening meals were if a limited choice but tasty.

“Only if there is nothing else available ”

Hotel is outside Menaggio and reachable by bus with rare schedule. There are no other restaurants in the village and we were told the restaurant is booked out for the dinner, so although hotel guests, we were left without dining possibility. Hotel is outside Menaggio and reachable by bus with rare schedule. There are no other restaurants in the village and we were told the restaurant is booked out for the dinner, so although hotel guests, we were left without dining possibility. In the morning, during breakfast I was moved out from my chosen table by a waiter because the table was "booked"... The waiter did not prepare the other table for us so we were missing coffee cup etc. Breakfast was OK, although no veggies (no tomato or cucumber).

I stayed here with my daughter for one week , the hotel is dated but very clean ,our room was very small with only one socket which was difficult for two women to dry hair and straighten hair and charge phones ect ,there was a mini fridge but it was in the bathroom so not ideal , the food was very nice and the pool area was nice .The staff on the surface were very friendly and tried to be helpful but seemed to get irritated if you asked to many questions or for information or help they would just point or show you the notice board , I guess this is because they didn’t speak English and found it difficult. The down side to this hotel is it’s quite far from the town and the public transport is very unreliable and infrequent and taxis in Menaggio are almost non existent, there is only 3 and one always seems to be in Como! ... this left us stranded in the town one night for 2 hours after dinner and left us unable to get into the town for a booked excursion and we were not able to book one for our return to the airport, the hotel staff were very good and arranged for another member of staff to give us a lift into the town for our excursion and return flight and charged us the same price as a taxi ... if you manage to get a taxi it will be between €15-20 ...there is a path down to Menaggio that is mentioned on trip advisor and the staff told us about it but this path is a long walk and very , very dangerous the staff should never encourage anyone to take this path .There is also absolutely nothing in the surrounding area to the hotel ,the staff did direct us to a pizza parlor close by but it was closed every night , we tried it 3 nights in a row and they also tried to direct us to a nearby restaurant but we just couldn’t understand the directions or find the restaurant . So this is a very basic but nice hotel with lovely views but I would only stay again if we had a car .. there is a big car park .
