“Interesting stay, friendly staff with good service and food”

We spent a week at Imperiale whilst doing the sites around Pompeii and the Amalfi coast. It is evidently a thriving wedding and party venue and passing guests stay in the hotels rooms opposite that shown on the picture The room was a comfortable standard double room with elaborate baroque furnitu… more

“To choose carefully - Take care”

If you choose such an "hotel" you have to be aware that their business model is more related to organize events than being an hotel (it's seems quite an expanded business model in that region). This has several consequences : Twice or three times per week you got birthdays; weddings organized it me… more

  • Guests at Hotel Imperiale say: So we booked for 4 nights, we drove from lake Garda (8 hours incl rest breaks) got to the hotel to be told they were fully booked and booking.com shouldn’t have allowed us to book but they weren’t going to leave us hanging dry. So they arranged for us to go to their “sister” hotel in Pompeii and were told it was more expensive but don’t worry we don’t have to pay anything extra. So as we thought it was “sister” hotel meaning the same hotel, different location we agreed and were happy to drive with an escort to Hotel Amitrano in Pompeii. When we arrived we were very disappointed as it was on a busy Main Street in the city centre, with no pool, restricted parking (handing in car keys and barriers) which means the manager had to move our car and other’s anytime someone wanted out as the cars were blocked in by other cars. Anyway the hotel had no pool which is one of the reasons we wanted to stay outside of town, so therefore it wasn’t a “sister” hotel, maybe just some nice colleagues or friends which had a free room in their hotel. The staff were absolutely lovely and understood our predicament, on our way out for dinner the lovely owner (I think) told us that we could go back to hotel imperiale in the morning as someone was leaving and we could have the disabled room if we liked, this was absolutely fine. When we got there the room was not disappointing at all, very very spacious, beautiful vintage quirky decor with major Italian influence, we loved it! Hotel imperiale is undergoing a wee face lift, I believe in its prime day was a 5* and now has self reduced to a 3* due to reconstruction. Our room had a bit of a bad smell but this didn’t bother us as we were above the pool. We had a massive balcony which went around the corner, only thing I would say is to supply a couple of sun loungers for the balcony :) there’s a massive selection of sweet treats for breakfast, id liked to have a few more hot options, the coffee was amazing and unlimited, but was all more than substantial to fill you up for a full day of exploring we were even offered sandwiches to take with us while out and about which most hotels are stuck up about “taking lunch” so this was a nice gesture. On our last day we sat around the pool with a couple bottles of prossecco and relaxed and were brought some complimentary treats and juice, maybe it was from the party the night before but was another lovely gesture! Everyone is commenting on the parties and how it was disruptive etc, we were right above the pool and could see a birthday party one night and another wedding the next night, we sat on the balcony and enjoyed the music then went to bed, watching Netflix on a phone which we heard no problem, we both got an amazing sleep each night with the partying going on. Once the door was closed and the shutters also closed you couldn’t hear anything really. The price of the hotel with breakfast is a great deal if you want to chill and relax and be waited on while travelling. On our last night we had dinner at the hotel, I was actually expecting the menu to be much more expensive than it was, we were still full the next morning and all was only 62.50€ including a bottle of prossecco!!! The staff at the hotel were absolutely top notch, made sure we had everything we wanted, wee Josie and Maria from reception and breakfast are lovely! Josie speaks good English and for us being Scottish and forgetting to slow down when we spoke (especially after a few bottles of prossecco) she understood us and replied amazingly! We were made to feel welcome and comfortable in the hotel. being 2 single gay friends around Italy raises a few eyebrows and looks especially in the more catholic areas of Italy, we didn’t get this in hotel imperiale we were made to feel welcome and almost like friends :) I do agree with some of the reviews that the hotel is getting a bit old but I’d bare with them while they’re giving it a facelift bit by bit and grab it at the very reasonable discounted price :) thank you Hotel Imperiale and your amazing staff! We would definitely be back! Hope this review helps anyone looking to book Here :) just dae it!
