Wonderful place in the hills above Bologna. If you love nature, you're going to love it there! It features stables where you can learn to ride horses and explore the meadows and hills. A vineyard and a couple of nice restaurants are well in walking distance.

This is a pretty place- typical of rural Italy. They have a small horse farm and a few vineyards. We stayed in the main house where the family also stays. We might have been their first guests after the off-season, as we were there the second week of March. The room was cold and we had to turn on the two radiators and it was a little while before it was comfortable. The third day the gas must have gone out since the hot water and radiators weren't working. Brrr! But they did get it fixed quickly, since when we came back from meetings in Bologna, everything was functioning well. We stayed at this same place last year, and will stay there again. Nice to stay here instead of the dirty city (and I'm a city girl!) The family is adorable. The wife will make a home made Italian dinner if you let her know in the morning. She also makes homemade cakes for breakfast. Rural, but fun! I don't recommend staying in the building down the road from the main house. Very dusty.

This was our first stay at an Agristurismo hotel in Italy. Our original hope was to learn a little bit about the local culture from the hosts of this hotel. Unfortunately this hotel was run by a host who did not stay at the hotel. Since they were not on premises, when checking in we had to have others call the host to have them come by and check us in. On checkout they could not be reached. This was somewhat disappointing to us. However, if you want a place to get away from the bigger city of Bologna and have a quite stay this is a good place to stay. A car is needed to get here and is not a far drive from Bologna and its surrounding cities. The accommodations were spacious. We had a studio apartment that was down the hill from the main house. Again this was slightly inconvenient as breakfast is served in the main house and you will need to drive to get there unless you walk the dirt road up the back side of the property. The good part of the apartment is that it had a stove and sink so you can purchase fresh pasta in town and cook it in the apartment. The views from the hotel are very nice in that it is set on a hill overlooking the vineyards. Most of the activity at this location is from the riding stables co-located on the property. Most are teens and pre-teens that are getting riding lessons in the afternoon. Our thought is that there might be other places if you want more interaction with the hosts, but if who want your independence you can chose this spot.
