We visited Rome for 4 days as a couple and were really pleased with our booking at Grand Master Suites. I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews on trip advisor but we were really chuffed with our booking. Check in was easy and smooth and the receptionist helpful with some recommendations for places to eat. We stayed on the 4th floor in room 403. It was clean, spacious and quiet. Everything you would want for a city break. Location was 10/10, located on Via del Corsa which is very central and walking distance to all the sights. It’s approx 5 mins from the Spanish steps and 13 minutes from Trevi fountain. We also walked to the Colesseum and Trastavere (both approx 30 minutes). We only used the metro to get to and from the airport. Great location to eat also, if you come out of the apartment and take the first left ( Via della Croce) there are plenty of places to eat and a small supermarket. Restaurant al 34 is a few minutes walk and was 10/10 food- highly recommended! So in summary, I wouldn’t hesitate to come back to this hotel and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in central Rome.

“Disappointing”

This review is about the annex building. We stayed for a long weekend Thursday to sunday. On the plus side: Reception lady was very friendly and helpful and punctual in meeting us. This review is about the annex building. We stayed for a long weekend Thursday to sunday. On the plus side: Reception lady was very friendly and helpful and punctual in meeting us. The location is excellent - near ro shops and restaurants and within easy walking distance of all major attractions. Free wifi and lots of outdoor space and nice views Comfortable and reasonably clean - bedding and towels fine but walls and floors could have been cleaner. Spacious - although the space could have been used much better with minimal attention ie making a better bedroom. The main disappointment was that the accommodation felt very neglected, could have been cleaner and definitely needs modernisation and decoration - seemed very tired and unloved. It looked like it had been an office (including a lot of paperwork left in drawers) and had just had some beds and furniture moved into the office space It was difficult to find things for example couldnt find a hairdryer. The bedrooms were strange - one was located apart from the rest of the accommodation down some stairs and the other was in a space between the kitchen and bathroom which would have been more suited as a utility room . Kitchen very small and cramped- again simple improvements could have been made to this space to give more work surface. Not well maintained - shower head falling off with water pressure, water heater leaking onto the floor. Some safety concerns which may be because rules are different from the UK- 4th floor windows opened wide with no barrier- risk of falling especially for children. I couldn't see any smoke or Carbon monoxide alarms not any fire escape plan/route. Summary- acceptable (just) but could be so much better with minimal effort . The photos are not representative of the reality .
