We had an unexpected stay here, we had actually booked for Hotel Auditorium Di Mecenate, but upon drop off the member of staff who met us from the taxi brought us one street over to the Marta Inn. Appears to be situated in a residential building, some residents had signs up by their doors saying "we are not a bed and breakfast, do not ring". We were a bit confused about this but settled ourselves in. We had a room next to the kitchen and our bathroom was situated one over from that, not an en-suite which was said when we booked (but then again, we weren't staying in the same place!). Room was lovely and clean, glasses and snacks were replaced daily and breakfast of pastries was left in a bag on our door handle every morning at 9am. The cleaner was very polite and friendly, even turning the air-con on for us during the day so it was ready for our return! Walls, however, are paper thin. A group of girls checked in two days before our week long stay was up and they were incredibly loud. Screaming, shouting and dragging furniture about, you could hear them as if they were in your own room. I honestly don't believe it was just the girls, that it's just you would've heard noise no matter what. Location was fantastic, very central with lots of restaurants and sites to see nearby. Colosseum and Roman Forum less than 15 minutes walk, trevi fountain and pantheon less than 30 minutes walk. Final point, the staff didn't appear to be on site and could only be contacted via WhatsApp. We had a quick response, but a family that got locked out of their room seemed to be waiting well over an hour for someone to come and let them back in. Overall, a good stay, but not the place we expected at all!

“Great place for the budget traveller”

Location is the best thing about this place. Nearest metro station was Vittorio Emanuele, one stop from Termini. Very good connection to airport and to the rest of the city. Location is the best thing about this place. Nearest metro station was Vittorio Emanuele, one stop from Termini. Very good connection to airport and to the rest of the city. Lots of cafes, pizzerias, restaurants, minimarkets near by. It is basically a big flat that has been turned into accommodation facility. Mostly local people living in the building. You enter into the flat that has 4 or 5 private rooms and shared kitchen. Some rooms have bathrooms in it, some have bathroom in the hallway. In kitchenette You have small fridge, microwave, kettle and espresso machine. Rooms are small and clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Street noise was heardable but didn´t bother us. Wouldn´t call it B&B since we didn`t receive any breakfast, although it was supposed to be included. Only time we saw any personnel was during check in. We asked about the breakfast, the guy didnt know anything about cafe vouchers. We said we have a booking confirmation with breakfast included, he said that someone will bring us breakfast to our room but that didn´t happen (stayed there 4 nights). On check out morning we had dilemma what to do with the keys (to leave and to enter you had to lock/unlock 4 doors including gate of the yard). No one answered to any of the phone numbers so we decided to leave keys to the hotel and found ourselves locked in the yard. Fortunately some local lady let us out. Would definitely reccommend it to budget travellers.
