Our stay at La Chiesuola was exactly what we had hoped it would be. Pros: - It is situated on a beautifully maintained property. - The suite is roomy and furnished in an Italian shabby chic way, which really suits the area. - If you don't want to go out for dinner, you have the option of eating there. Eleanora is an amazing cook. - The pool is large and there is plenty of different types of seating, i.e. from table and chairs to lounge chairs. - Dogs are free of charge. Cons: -The breakfast is typically Italian, i.e. sweet cake and nothing savory. On the upside, everyday you get a homemade cake. -There are a lot of dogs in the area (not at this establishment) and they bark all night long. It takes some time to get used to. -Despite being well maintained, it is an older house so sometimes you get odd smells coming from the bathroom. We've experienced this in other accommodations elsewhere and know there is often nothing that can be done about this. The area of Tuscia is pretty much ignored by foreign tourists, which we still haven't figured out why. Here's a list of pros and cons in regards to the area: Pros: - The abundance of restaurants in the area is hard to fathom considering that it consists of multiple villages all with in about 10 to 15 minutes of each other. We (our family of four) ate in restaurants and really indulged: along with our main course we had appetizers, a bottle of wine and dessert and never spent over 90 euros. In fact the majority of the time it was around 50 euros. - So much to see and do all with in (max) 45 minutes: two lakes, beach, countryside, cultural landmarks that even our teenager found interesting, hiking paths, the list goes on and on... - Virtually no mosquitos. All in all our stay here was comfortable and one of the most enjoyable vacations we've had. If you decide to book this accommodation go with an open mind. What you get far out ways the price.

“A villa amongst nature”

A quaint villa with incredible views . The outdoor pool is set in an amazing location. Breakfast for us Europeans was a bit disappointing ( loads of sweet pastries, even freshly baked cake(!) but hardly any savouries, no plain bread and butter or some fruit at least. However when I commented on this the hostess graciously offered to scramble some eggs for me, which although I declined was really appreciated. The room was huge with an immaculate new bathroom which however had a strange glass "window" into the bedroom, so if travelling with older kids or you simply don't want anyone in your group "viewing you " from the bedroom while showering, do ask for a more conservative ensuite. One of the evenings there was a problem with the water supply and the hosts went to a lot of trouble bringing us buckets of water and complimentary drinking water to make sure we were comfortable . Definitely would visit again if in the area. Very good price for the historical value.

“Sumptuous”

Delightful3 night stay, in this tastefully furnished, lovely b&b. It feels very luxurious and lived in, homely yet worn, could do with some extra loving hands to spruce up some minor aspects. Delightful3 night stay, in this tastefully furnished, lovely b&b. It feels very luxurious and lived in, homely yet worn, could do with some extra loving hands to spruce up some minor aspects. The hosts were kind, helpful people, I felt so at home. I would definitely come back, mainly for the gorgeous pool, the location (super easy to find) and proximity to wonderful places to visit (Villa Lante next door is a must) but also for Eleanora’s cooking - dinner was amazing!

“Quirky but romantic”

This place is difficult to find, but an Italian friend of ours took us there. We arrived late at night after a party in Viterbo so didn't really see the place until the morning. This place is difficult to find, but an Italian friend of ours took us there. We arrived late at night after a party in Viterbo so didn't really see the place until the morning. Our room was very large, in a tower on two floors with a balcony overlooking the valley. It was amazing to open the shutters after a good night's sleep and take in the scenery and the fresh air. Sadly we only stayed one night and had to leave directly after breakfast (which was good, by the way) but did talk a bit to the owners who showed us the grounds and seemed very kind. There is a lot to see in this part of Lazio and we would definitely like to go back and stay there again.
