We spent 1 nice week at the hotel Nettuno in San Menaio, on the Gargano peninsula in Puglia, The hotel was not far below the expectations we had from the internet brochure. - The rooms of the main building were OK (maybe a bit too small for 3 persons family) and with fantastic sea view (the railroad between hotel and beach was not a problem as there are only passenger trains and not so often). Problematic was cargo cars on the street (the beach/sea side, there are access door for hotel and restaurant personnel) which starts to drive very early and we preffered to sleep with open window (not with working air-condition). - The hotel personnel don’t speak English unfortunately (only one person and not so good). - the general vacuum cleaner system starts working every day at 8:30 and waked up everyone which was not nice (-----------). - the rooms are equipped with air-conditioning and small fridge. - The bathroom size is OK but there are no any shelves so you have to put your cosmetics on the floor (---). - The internet (data transfer) was poor (---). - The restaurant (we were a bit forced to buy full or at least half board) was no more than large white room at street level, without any restaurant atmosphere, service OK but food decent but not varied (everyday the same). The car park (30 meters away from the main building) is uncovered and cars were heated up everyday with the sun. The beach, pretty nice with the sand was golden-brown and fine... as for the water not very clean just ok, while trying snorkeling there were no visibility at all. And the worst, absolutely nothing to do at night, neither the hotel or the "village" had any kind of nightlife... for that you had to drive half an hour uphill to Vico or along the coast to Rodi. If you ever go to the Gargano go straight to the Isole Tremiti where the water is crystal clear (but mch colder than in San Menaio) and the landscape very beautiful or to travel to Gargano Landscape Park or other interesting Gargano cities/places.
