We recently enjoyed a one-night stay at Borgo Giusto, and it truly lived up to my expectations. It was conveniently located and easily accessible, which made our arrival hassle-free. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding to the charm of this beautiful and tranquil village. The location wasn't too deep in the mountains, it could get warm during the day. In the evening when the sun dipped behind the mountains around 6pm casting a soothing shade over the area. One of the highlights of our stay was booking a spa session, and we opted for the Sweedish massage, which I highly recommend. The flexibility in scheduling the session to accommodate our plans was appreciated. Both masseuses were exceptionally skilled, and I can confidently say it was one of the best massages I've had in years, even considering my own background as a masseuse. We chose the most expensive suite for our stay, and it was comfortable and well-appointed. The addition of window nets to ward off mosquitoes was a thoughtful touch. However, there were some drawbacks, such as the steep steps to the bedroom and limited space around the bed, which might be a bit challenging for some guests. The restaurant experience was decent, with pasta and steak on the menu, albeit on the basic side. What stood out, though, was the friendly and accommodating staff. Even when we were the last diners and they were in the midst of closing, they didn't rush us and even offered us desserts or coffee. The breakfast was also fairly basic, but the overall experience was well worth the price. I would gladly return to Borgo Giusto for another visit, as it left us with a memorable and enjoyable stay.

The idea of a hotel built in an abandoned village appealed and we stayed for three nights during a Tuscan road trip. The location is superb being halfway up a hill. The driveway is interesting and when we stayed there was a ludicrously managed set of roadworks in the town leading to the hotel - nothing the hotel could do about it but traffic lights set where cars could not get past queuing traffic! The hotel could have been so much better. A little bit of refurbishment would help to smarten the place up. Customer service not brilliant, welcome at reception was fine but there is a disconnect to the restaurant which meant bookings were not passed through. The restaurant staff are not experienced or interested enough in service. Food not great which was disappointing as they really have a captive customer base. Bar closed early and there is nothing to do after an evening meal. The pool area is stunning and there is plenty of space.

The location is beautiful although the road to the domain itself is rather narrow and bumpy, especially the last part, limit your speed and check your mirrors, Italians drive like madmen ! The typical Tuscan houses are old but beautiful in themselves, Reception is nice, cleaning is normal, the swimming pool is beautifully situated, but it is a mystery why swimming is no longer allowed after 8 pm ? The bar at the pool could stay open a little longer, and the service a little friendlier. The breakfast and restaurant are more than ok for this level. A real negatif point is the lack of air conditioning in the houses, and certainly in the bedrooms. We had 2 bedrooms and the heat was really unbearable, we could hardly sleep :-( The ventilators present in every house unfortunately do not bring any solace. In a country where the average daytime temperature is 36 degrees (with outliers of up to 39 to 41 degrees) and where it is still 33 degrees at 23h, I think aircondition is not an unnecessary luxury !!!
