For first timers in a new place, getting the best and comfiest hotel is our utmost priority. Location, Affordability and Excellent reviews are what were looking for. Luckily, we found via Agoda - Green Rich Hotel Nagoya Nishiki at just 200 SGD for 2 nights with an indoor onsen what a great deal it was!!! We booked a Single room at 17 m2 and it was one of the biggest single rooms we had in Japan!!! Located at Marunouchi station in Nagoya metro, it is walkable on all its exits and within 5 mins perimeter. This side of Nagoya is much quieter than the Nagoya station and Sakae districts where the Nagoya tower is located as well as a famous shopping district. There is a big Vdrug supermarket just across the block which offers much cheaper and wider varieties than traditional convenience stores and we even got to buy some Omiyages here!!! Make sure to go via Exit 6 to 8 in Marunouchi where the lift is because we missed it at first so we took the long stairs up. The hotel facade and lobby were modern, you will be greeted by neon Blue Logo of GR upon entering and Onsen/Coin laundry area are right opposite the lift. Lobby is on 2F and its self check-in pretty modern and fast. However, although I feel the staff could speak English well they still used some translator device which they should have not. They provide complimentary toiletries/coffee/tea by the lobby and we were booked on the 4F. Upon entering the hallway there are racks on the left of the lift where we could get our Sleeping robes and Extra Pillows - what a very clever idea!!! First time I’ve seen in hotels offering this kind of service. Tip - you must get the pillows right away before they get empty. As expected, true to Japanese world class standards, our room was 100% ready upon entering - big/spacious and super clean/neat and tidy!!! The room tone is blue and off white and the same goes with the hotel - modern, cozy, and cool!!! Its fully Grey carpeted and there is a small wardrobe/luggage space to your right where you can hang your clothes, put your luggages, shoes, other stuff. They provide just like other Japanese hotels Fabric spray, Shoehorn and I loved their Black shiny GR slip ons!!! Next is their big/spacious Japanese style toilet with clean towels and full on shampoo/body wash containers. Water heating is perfect and pressure is strong. Their big spacious tub is big enough to stretch my leg and I’m 161 cm tall and its easy to fill/drain. We maximised the use of tub for 2 nights and we really got relaxed/delighted!!! There is a big full body mirror across the toilet and a very wide space/hallway for your luggages and stuff with still enough room to move what a big space it was!!! They also provide Air Ioniser right below the wall mounted Flat screen TV with local channels mostly and VOD for purchase. WIFI is fast and smooth, Air-conditioning and heating are not centralized so we have full control of our room temperature and works perfectly when we set it to 26 celcius!!! Their Double bed is enough to fit 2 people and the blankets are thick, mattresses right firmness and pillows fluffy!!! There is a headrest to protect our heads which I loved and a lighted headboard to put some of our stuff and power outlet/lighting controls on the left side of the headboard. Next to the bed is the long White study table with wall mirror attached and warm cozy lighting. Here we have compartments, mini fridge, cups, kettle, hairdryer and power outlets. We had our yummy and fabulous midnight snacks and drinks here and it is one of our happy places in the room other than the toilet/bed!!! We definitely have tried their in house onsen at the 1F on both nights and it was a nice, refreshing, relaxing!!! The pool is small yet clean and the water is not too hot just the right temperature. Its just enough for us because there are not many people either. Locker, shower and changing area are clean and not crowded plus they also have coin laundry. The only thing is that you have to use your own towel and you could also request from the concierge if you don’t want to. Finally, on our last day after checkout we tried their breakfast buffet for just 1500 yen what a greal deal it is!!! Perhaps one of the best breakfast we tried in Japan - located beside the lobby at Quatre Saison, their in house restaurant which has a modern, cool, cozy vibes of high wooden/metal tables/chair, modern and bright lighting its just the perfect place to have breakfast together with the magical view of sunny Nagoya winter outside. They offer lots of Japanese choices like rice/curry/salad/eggs/noodles/sausage/chicken/tempuras & soup. For the western ones we have Breads/Pastries, Fruits, Cereals, & Coffee/Tea/Juices. We arrived 30 mins before breakfast closes and mind you we were the only ones there. All of their food & drinks were refreshingly good, fresh, tasty and delicious!!!! I especially loved their Potato salad, Pastries, Tempura, Curry & the Japanese rice which is very soft and chewy!!! Their juices were fresh and coffee perfectly brewed. We had a very full, yummy & hearty breakfast meal at Green Rich Nagoya and its highly recommended if you’re staying at this hotel!!! Keep up the Excellent work & service provided Green Rich Nagoya till we come back again!!! Arigato Gozaimasu!!! Matah neh:=)
