The lodge is lovely with a great atmosphere, located away from the river. Rooms are clean and spacious. The shower is good, as you get both hot and cold water. They have shampoo, shower gel and lotion in dispenser bottles. The food is good for both vegetarion and non-vegetarian and a good variety as well. The lodge has a swimming pool which is not too far from the reception. The service was okay, no one would attend to us until we called them to order drinks but otherwise generally they're all friendly and welcoming. They sorted our issues whether it was room service or food related. We had some elephants visiting the waterhole at night. Most of the animal sightings weren't too far from the lodge which was good as we saw a leopard and a cheetah mum with cubs. The lodge is fairly priced and worth a stay, I enjoyed and would definitely recommend this lodge.

When we arrived, we thought the place looked very nice. The staff were nice and pleasant, however we had to ask for more information than we were given. We went straight to lunch, food was average and the choices, although variation. Much less than many other places we have visited. The rooms were very dated, but ok. Unfortunately electricity was only on in the rooms from 5am - 9am and 6pm - 11pm. We had our toddler and so meant we couldn’t put on a night light we had brought or store anything for him as there was no fridge due to this. There were quite a few bugs, and nothing provided to repel these. We couldn’t use our own things again due to lack of electricity. No Fans or AC. Shower curtain as a bathroom window curtain. As we were getting ready for bed, a member of staff came to put down the nets we already had done and gave one squirt of insect repellent. We went to the pool, at first glance looked lovely, but realised it didn’t look as clean as it should have been. As an adult it was fine, but wouldn’t have chanced putting our Son in there. We sat at the bar and there was a cocktail menu, so my husband ordered us both one with the barman. After 20 minutes there was no one around, another couple tracked down a member of staff to come to the bar, we asked about the drinks and off she went, we seen them both talking so my husband went up again. Turned out they didn’t know how to make the cocktails! We ordered a gin and tonic in the evening which was the most basic gin and tonic ever and cost £12 each… ridiculous. We were booked in for a 2 night stay, but left after Breakfast the next day and went to another place nearby. Each issue we had wasn’t the worst thing, but accumulated, means I wouldn’t recommend! It could be a very beautiful place, and a little gem, but things need to be changed and updated in order for this to be worth going to.
