“Great Hotel but not really a relaxation spa”

We had an amazing Valentine's weekend at the Chateau. All was great, except that the spa is quite small, was very full with very loud guests. Only small sauna rooms are available and few relaxation rooms/chairs.

Overall, the stay at this hotel was okay, but unfortunately the price-performance ratio was not convincing. The room was clean and the basic facilities were available, so there was nothing fundamentally wrong with the stay. The staff were generally polite and the check-in process was smooth. However, considering the rather high price per night, the overall experience felt quite average. The room was relatively simple, the amenities were limited, and the atmosphere did not really match what one would expect at this price level. While the location may be convenient and the hotel is acceptable for a short stay, I believe there are better options in the area that offer better value for money. For the price charged, I expected a higher standard, more comfort, and a more memorable overall experience.

Unfortunately, this hotel was not worth the money at all. The rooms are very small and extremely poorly soundproofed – you can hear almost everything from neighboring rooms, which makes it hard to relax. The wellness area is also quite small. That wouldn’t necessarily be an issue in itself, but it inevitably leads to overcrowding, which takes away from the whole experience. The biggest disappointment, however, was the dinner. The quality of the food was genuinely poor and far below what you would expect at this price level. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel. Other spa hotels near Luxembourg offer much better value for money and a far more enjoyable experience.

We stayed one night at Château d’Urspelt and paid around €650 including spa access, dinner and drinks. At that price level we expected a seamless experience, but several details felt below four-star standard: – spa overcrowded and stressful rather than relaxing – long waiting times (25 minutes at the bar for a mocktail) – mold visible on the showerhead and slow malfunctioning drain - no coffee pads; no heating in the room – product placement in bathroom confusing (bodylotion in the shower etc.) Staff remained friendly, but seemed overstretched. Overall the hotel has potential, great atmosphere, but attention to maintenance and service flow would improve the experience considerably.
