This was our second holiday at the victoria. We stayed, on both occasions in the adults only V2 part of the hotel. We had a swim up room. These rooms are absolutely fantastic! Open the sliding doors,WOW... the view...small patio, then step into the swim up. This is in my opinion a proper swim up, takes you right down to the bar and restaurant. Not just a private pool. We were allowed into our room well before the advertised 2.00pm. On receiving our room we were bought fresh fruit, macaroons, and potted plant . Also a "welcome back" letter. Everyone so far was smiling, laughing, and very helpful and welcoming. A few things that did catch our eye, but didn't have a negative impact on our stay. When the bath plug was pulled, water flooded onto the bathroom floor, reported but not remedied. Patio doors opened from the outside, even when locked. Also reported and not remedied. Rodents running across our patio....was mentioned to staff who told us management were taking action after the national holiday. As I mentioned, none of this had any negative impact. We ate mostly at morris beef....absolutely fantastic staff! Rakesh should be given a medal! Ramraj serving the v2 beach area was brilliant...laughing , smiling, making fun conversations. Jagdish at the v2 bar was also very attentive...again smiles, laughs and conversations...always remembered our orders . All the staff at the v2 section of the hotel were fantastic! Shame we couldn't say the same for the staff at the buffet bar, with some being blunt, and making you feel you were a nuisance. On one negative note, the spa was rubbish. We didn't get the massage we wanted, faces were pulled when we said we'd booked for the massage in the shack above the koi pond, and they wanted to do it inside. Instructions were unclear, during the massage there was muttering and giggling. Straight after the massage there was the sales push, hadn't even got off the bed...expensive . Buffet food was well, buffet food. All in all, this hotel ticks all the boxes for us. If you can afford to stay at the V2, then do it!! We will be back again soon!

As always Victoria is a go to for the best family holiday. Everything about this resort is amazing, the food and beverage, beach, pool, staff, management, rooms, gardens, sports, gym is just perfect. A special thanks to Ravi who is always so accommodating and friendly, nothing is ever to much to ask. He greeted us daily and was always asking is everything was okay, this goes for all the staff too. A special mention to Deepak, Dhaeri, Vik, Jessam, Raini, and Ranjit (housekeeping). You all made our trip even more memorable, thank you very much for everything you do for clients. The hotel is very clean, turn down service is amazing with fresh towels whenever you need. One downfall is that the pool area can get a bit noisy due to the amount of family at this resort. Locations is perfect, a short ride to Grand Baie. Gorgeous atmosphere, with the birds chirping in the morning as you are having breakfast.

“Pleasant and peaceful stay”

Very pleasant experience. Mr Azagen did an excellent job keeping our room well maintained and handling our requests. Wide variety of food was available and staff members were kind and considerate especially the staff from room service and "Le Superbe" restaurant.

I was beginning to wonder about all the reviews saying this hotel was heaven on earth and thought they were being made up, but having stayed here, I now know they’re (mostly) true and this is a very good hotel, at least in terms of looks. It’s got its faults, but its good points do outweigh them. The overall layout of the hotel is good, but the rooms give it the wow factor. I think I’m right in saying all the rooms look out over the Indian Ocean, with a big balcony to enjoy the lovely views. The layout and contents in the rooms are very good and a high quality. My only gripe was that there are no English speaking tv news channels, only French or German, which was quite important as the Iran war was going on whilst we were there. We stayed for three days/two nights and found lots of flies and some birds in and around the restaurant area eating the food that was in the open and there was quite a lot of it. In the evenings the flying insects reached ridiculous levels and would be crawling in your hair. On day 3 I ended up with a very upset stomach and endured a really uncomfortable 13 hour flight home. When we were there, the hotel was extremely busy during Friday, day 3, and noisy around the main reception concourse and a lot of children were just running around on their own at times. LA CASA Italian restaurant was ok, but there wasn’t much Italian food on offer the night we went. Linguine and tagliatelle were the options. It wasn’t as enjoyable an experience as other hotel à la carte restaurants I’ve experienced elsewhere. I had mentioned when I booked that it was to celebrate my birthday, but there wasn’t any acknowledgment of that on the night. We enjoyed our two night stay, but I’m not sure a 7 or 14 night stay would have been as enjoyable. The hotel looks great, but management should have a serious look at food hygiene standards.
