El Cielito (about 2 hours south of PV) is a slice of hidden paradise. The grounds are well appointed above the “almost” virgin beach below. We were often the only two souls on the beach at a given time. One night we star gazed (amazingly clear and hundreds of stars) while relaxing, listening to music and the waves. The views from the pool are amazing and the beach is easily accessed from a set of stairs that are in great shape (sensor light at night). We purchased a 3 day package directly from the hotel. Try to avoid booking via 3rd party websites. It included the well appointed, clean cabana (plenty of hot water), daily breakfast, couples massage and a romantic dinner and bonfire on the beach! AMAZING. The food was good and the bar had anything you wanted. Employees were great, the only thing I wished was there was poolside service. Anytime we wanted anything we had to go seek it out at the bar (not a BIG deal). Internet/WiFi was slow at best - but that wasn’t a deal breaker as we were here to disconnect and relax, which we definitely did (it did function tho enough to post pics/social media “document” your stay). We took the bus from Romantic Zone in PV to El Tuito for $40 pesos per person ($2USD es). The taxi ride from El Tuito to El Cielito was about 40 minutes and cost $600 pesos ($30USD). We got our drivers WhatsApp and confirmed our return for the same price. El Cielito is a great escape from the touristy PV and offers R&R along with great food, booze and amenities. It would make a great location for a wedding, birthday or large family buy out. We would certainly return!!

“A lovely relaxing 2 nights.”

Spent 2 very relaxing days here. Great views. Very reasonable price. A decent breakfast included. Room was rustic but awesome. Grounds were well maintained. Wi fi touch and go. Check in and out was pain free. Definitely going to return. 5 star.

We come here every year for a few days break from our home in Puerto Vallarta. The hotelito sits on a ridge overlooking a beach that stretches as far as you can see and farther than you can walk. Not a town in sight - not even the villages that nestle in the palms here and there for many miles. The cabins, each with a bathroom, are simple but adequate - nothing fancy. Choose one on the ridge if you want fabulous views and don't mind the pounding of the waves at night. The other cabins are quieter. The restaurant is simple, but the food is carefully prepared and tasty. The waiters are very helpful and the cooks will accomodate your tastes and dietary needs. The common space around the pool is delightful as is its view of whales, manta rays, and schools of fish... Treat yourself with a lunch at Cande's Restaurant in the nearby fishing village, accessible by car. Muchissimas gracias to Edgar, the manager, and to all the wait staff and maids. They graciously accomodated us even as we played cards at the restaurant tables late at night!

It’s true that this cabaña style hotel is situated on a bluff, in paradise, on an incredibly long stretch of unspoilt beach. The small hotel grounds are beautifully kept and the staff are very friendly. The cabañas are basic but clean and comfortable and all have terraces with hammocks and outside furniture and a table. The pool area is lovely and the stairs down to the beach very manageable for most people. I would, however, disagree that the food in the restaurant is good! We have stayed here quite a few times and at best the food has been “passable”. We usually escape to the next village along for a meal on our second night at the hotel. Another strike against it is the way no staff seem to clean up the pool area ready for the next morning’s activity. We are lying out here today at lunchtime, surrounded by towels left by yesterday’s guests. The hotel is well off the beaten track and a true gem. We don’t expect high internet speeds or amazing water pressure. We are here to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings and solitude — but a little more attention to detail and fresh orange juice in the morning would be a lovely and not unachievable addition.
