I stayed in Hacienda San Antonio Millet for four nights with my 14 year old son and my 81 year old mother, to say the least, a difficult age gap to fill on vacations. When we arrived we were immediately amazed by the beauty of the property. Immaculate rain forests surround perfectly manicured and kept gardens with gigantic trees and lawns. The hacienda is composed of several buildings, including a chapel and two beautiful pools, a recreation room with Netflix, ping-pong table and bicycles, and a salon with a table seating well over 20 people overlooking the lawn. There are two main buildings on the property, one with several suites surrounding a lush garden and pool, and the main building which is a perfect recreation of a period hacienda. The interior design and the antique furniture are textbook examples of perfect historical restoration. Every detail is chosen carefully and with impeccable taste. Each room is different, each with remarkable bathrooms, linen and decor. The rooms include very fancy toiletries, a basket with fresh fruit, water bottles supplied several times per day, fresh towels in abundance, even insect-spray, and very discrete air-condition units that allow you to hear the sounds of the forest outside (frogs, crickets) during the night. My son was impressed by the super fast internet. Every morning Angel would bring fresh coffee to the porch for us to wake up feeling pampered. During the day, Jesús would check on us and chat with us for hours. The breakfasts, which were included in the price, were prepared by three wonderful ladies. Each morning we were served different dishes, fruit (forget melon and papaya! we had cherries, kiwis, strawberries, and delicious mangoes), fresh orange juice, pastry and all sorts of goodies, served on fine china on a marble table with fresh flowers. The pools were cleaned every night for us to enjoy during the hot day. The property also includes a large expanse of rain forest and dense vegetation, which provide a completely different atmosphere to take strolls and watch birds, deer and other small local animals. While the hacienda in itself is already a reason to come and visit, the staff was what won our hearts. They made sure that we felt welcome, comfortable, safe and entertained every minute of our stay. We cannot thank them enough! We also want to thank the owners of this beautiful place for sharing the opportunity of the hacienda experience with us! The area is also quite interesting, with Mérida, Aké and Izamal less than an hour-drive away, so there is always somewhere to go if the tranquility of the hacienda becomes too much. The town of Tixkokob is also a five-minute drive to grab a snack or have an inexpensive dinner in the market. More than a hotel, Hacienda San Antonio Millet is what many would like to think of as an ideal "home", a bed-and-breakfast like no other. It surely is among my top 3 places in over 30 years of travels around the world. On the day of our departure, we all felt sad to leave, and will certainly return. Fully and highly recommended!

We were greeted warmly by Dulce and were shown immediately to our room. No check in process which was a delightful surprise. Once we unpacked and were provided the wifi info we were asked about our dinner and breakfast preferences. We aren't picky so we left everything up to the staff. We chose the 3 course dinner plan which runs about $40 per adult. Breakfast was included in our pricing. Luckily, we have been studying Spanish or we would have been using Google Translate. Everyone was really patient with us. The property is absolutely amazing. We walked the whole thing and fully explored. The buildings are nicely kept and you feel like you are staying in an old rich aunt's house. You feel a little bad about sitting on the furniture because they are old antiques. The first couple of nights we were there we were the only guests and we loved the freedom to explore. We stayed for 6 nights and most people tend to stay for one or two nights. We couldn't imagine spending just a short time there. It's not enough time to take in everything. The food was delicious. Everything we had. Often times it was too much food. The wifi was intermittent but it did it's job. No TV in the bedroom but you have access to several on the property to stream Netflix or whatever. The bedrooms have A/C but we didn't really need it. We left the window open and the evenings felt great. We had extra blankets on hand and additional pillows. We were comfortable. The days were warm but also comfortable. We loved hanging out on the porch. Careful with the Topes in and out of the surrounding Pueblas. And watch out for the dogs. Lots of dogs.
