Me and my wife stayed for a few days at this riad and everything could not be better. The Riad is amazing, the decor is fantastic and modern and the location excellent, a few minutes walk from the Jamaa el Fna Koutoubia Mosque. The traditional Moroccan breakfast is fantastic. My wife lost her phone on the street and everyone helped us find it from the manager Mourad to the owner and his wife. But we would like to leave a special thank you to Yassine who lives in the Medina and knows everyone and found the person who found the phone and handed it to us. Really a stay that will stay in the memory. Thank you, you guys are amazing.

I just loved everything about this place, but most of all the people who made this riad feel like home. So before I start with my review about this riad I want to take the time to thank Mourad, Yassin, Salah and the two most kindhearted women that made us breakfast every morning and cleaned our room. They took all the time they had to help us in every possible way you could think of. I really appreciate everything that you did for us and we wish all the best for everyone! Now to my review: We stayed 5 nights in this beautiful and very clean Riad. It was very easy to get to the big bazar (10 minutes slow walk) and all other places. I really appreciated that there was always warm water, all day all night! The terrace was a perfect spot to get away from the busy city and chill, I also was able to study for my exams there. Their Tajin is the best tajin we had so far, so you really have to try that! Every morning different breakfast The neighborhood is also very safe and the kids are the cutest!!! We would come back anytime!!!!

This place is beautiful on the inside, an amazing rooftop. I really loved how happy the staff seemed – they laughed a lot and shared their meals. The main managers were French I think. My room was fine, although the light in my bathroom was really dim and there was only a toilet down the hallway – maybe I missed that in the original booking. A nice breakfast each morning. Overall, though, I had a hard time at this riad. It’s a ten to fifteen minute walk from the main square and the area immediately surrounding the riad was challenging for me in many ways. My wallet was stolen … and then, thank god, returned to the riad. I was certainly being an unwise traveler, with my wallet easily accessed from my backpack. The riad manager was very disturbed by the event, and was kind to me about it. It seemed that this was an uncommon occurrence. But, there were several other intense incidents with the teens and children in that area that I definitely didn’t have in any other parts of Marrakech, and I had been walking a lot in the last few days I’d been there. Maybe I established myself as an easy mark right off. Be smarter than me or take special note if you’re a woman traveling alone. In other details, the wifi is somewhat spotty. You have to pay with cash, which I don’t remember being told in initial booking. People smoke cigarettes inside, although it was the same at the first riad I stayed at in Marrakesh. One night, it turned into a club – loud music playing – they turned it off at a reasonable hour though – lasted maybe 30 minutes. My last piece of advice: you can taxi there but it’s a harrowing experience because the little roads there are tiny and swarming with other traffic – better to travel light.

This is a nice place but isn't perfect. They really did try their best, and you can't ask for more. It is in Morocco and is offered at a reasonable price compared to some of the others around so considering this, it was ok. I can't say it was spectacular and give it a 5 star rating, especially given it is located in Marrakech where the cost of living for the locals is far less than many other places so it should cost them less to offer more. The presentation of the Riad is nice and it looks particularly beautiful and romantic at night. Room - The bedrooms are nice enough, but the lighting in ours wasn't very bright so it was a little darker than I personally would have liked at night. I appreciate some people may like this. The shower was nice, although the drain was a little blocked so after some time, it would start building up in the shower area and sink. There was no facility in the room for tea or coffee, although this does't seem to be available in most Riads in Marrakech, but would be expected from any B&B anywhere else....You can ask them for Moroccan tea but they charge for it, and a fair bit more than outside places. The room was clean and bed was comfortable enough so I had a good enough quality of sleep. No toiletries supplied, normally a basic necessity in anywhere I would give a full rating. Service - Overall good, everyone was attempting to help and be friendly. It's unfortunate that I can't remember his name but the youngest member of the team who was there when we were and said he was only there part-time because he was studying too was actually the most helpful to us. If I had to base a review of service solely on him, it would be 10/10. Money is important but in Marrakech, you are constantly reminded that many people are drying to draw it out as quickly as possible and as much as possible (more so than many other places I have visited) but the young gentlemen mentioned above was the only member of staff that seemed to just genuinely want to help us more than make money from us, that's the impression I got and it was truly refreshing. Not that everyone else didn't try to be helpful, but he really stood out for the above reason. Just so kind and helpful with no expectations of anything in return which actually made us really want to give him something to show our gratitude, just a different approach, and the right one in my opinion..... Location and Access - I would say the location of this Riad is very good, a close walk to all the action. The only thing I would mention is that it gets quiet in the less busy hours and you don't get a key to the front door of the Riad so when returning, you have to buzz so someone can open the door for you and if it just so happens that no one is around, you are left waiting outside. It happened to me and I felt uncomfortable stood outside waiting in a quiet back alleyway in a new and unfamiliar place. I would have really liked to be able to enter as I pleased and have a key rather than worrying about "what if I have to wait and how long" in case I happen to be unlucky and there's no one there to let us in during less busy hours.... Breakfast - Alright overall, very simple. It was good the first morning, mediocre the second and was my least favourite the 3rd so unfortunately wasn't consistent and seemed to go down a bit. It was ok, and reasonable for what was expected, but not quite the same as B&B's in other countries...They asked if we wanted dinner and we politely declined due to the extortionate price of it. I'm sure it's good, but it's a local lady who makes it and another local lady can make it for you anywhere else at a fraction of the price. If you live in central London, the price will be what you normally spend for a nice dinner outside, but this is Marrakech so I'm not sure why they are charging "London Prices" for the food. Bit disappointed with that but whether this would be an issue or not for someone is more a personal choice/opinion. We did have a couple of hiccups while staying here, one with the city tax and one with smoking, although both aren't entirely the Riad's fault, although I felt they could have certainly done more. I completely understand that everywhere has to charge city tax which is fair, however, we booked through an online agent (I think it was booking.com) and on our booking, it very clearly stated in bold that all taxes and charged were included. If this was not on our booking, I would have happily paid the tax with no questions asked. However, to me, ALL in bold means ALL. I don't see how there can be a misunderstanding around this. We were asked to pay anyways and after showing that our confirmation clearly stated we didn't, it became quite awkward. I believe this is an issue between the Riad and the booking agent which is why it doesn't make sense for me to have to lose out or deal with it, I do hope they managed to sort this between them in the end. The Riad agreed in the end that I shouldn't have to pay it as it very clearly stated on my booking in bold that 'ALL taxes were included" in what I paid but I could tell they weren't happy about it. It did make me uncomfortable and I shouldn't have been put in that position when I had done nothing wrong. They did agree in the end so it would be unfair of me to mark down the rating solely due to this, but it wasn't ideal of course and not what you expect from a very highly rated establishment. The second hiccup which isn't really their fault but they could have done more about is smoking. There were a couple of ladies who kept sitting in the central atrium smoking. Because it is covered, you could smell smoke in the rooms and had to close the windows which made the room quite stuffy. So it was a choice for us of have no fresh air or have air filled with their smoke which is not right. Not entirely the Riad's fault (although it did seem that these 2 ladies were more than just guests based on their interactions with the staff) but they could have done more. When I told them this bothered us, they just said that smoking is the ladies choice and they can't do anything about it. There is a reason that smoking indoors is banned in the UK, no one should be forced to inhale other people's fumes. I have no issue at all with people smoking, just don't force me to breathe it in. Surely they could have gone to the terrace to smoke? or outside? Overall, the right thing to do is to give my honest feedback but they did try so hence the generous 4/5 rating.
